First time playing- what even is this game (random event and early quest spoilers)?

Okay so I've considered myself an MMO gamer since Star Wars Galaxies but I've never really gotten into Runescape because I was a WoW addict for so long. I was reading some forums and heard someone say that OSRS will always be better than classic WoW (SoD) which is my favorite.

Anyway, I've just started out, and have been loving every minute- but I need to ask what the hell is this game?

I did Misthalin mystery, laughed my ass off. Only to turn around and do Romeo and Juliet and laugh my as off some more. Then, when I was just out fishing or something- it happened. Some cat named evil bob teleported in front of me and asks me if I want to see his cool pet, I said hell yeah.

So then I get teleported to the world of ScapeRune, where the fish in the sea are already cooked and I'm Evil Bob's slave and have to uncook the fish in the pot which is of course over a cold fire, so they get uncooked and now I'm free. I get it's just some anti-bot thing, but I can't stop laughing. This game really does have the best quests.

Does the game ever stop having funny stuff? I don't want to ever stop it with the silly stuff.
