Jagex Accounts are the future of account security and we're back to talk about what's next!

Please integrate multiple logins Jagex accounts with mobile.

Having to sign out and re-authenticate every time I want to switch accounts is pretty brutal. Unless I’m missing something, it’s just not feasible to be on one account then hop to another for a birdhouse run and then back.

We’re still investigating how we can improve character-switching on Mobile, but I can't guarantee anything just yet.

Really great to get confirmation that HDOS will be added to the launcher soon (tm).

I upgraded a couple of weeks ago and am really missing that particular client for how well it runs

Glad to hear it, we know there's been a lot of vocal support lately to add HDOS.

Oh yay they might support Linux

Will there be official support for Linux?

While the Jagex Launcher is not currently supported on Linux, there are some community projects that might help you play and we are reviewing how smoothly these workarounds function. Please head to our dedicated Linux article for more information.

NEVERMIND

I'm not signing up for a Jagex account until there is Linux support. Community workarounds are not an acceptable option.

While I understand the negativity we wouldn't be showcasing the community workarounds if we didn't feel like they were good solutions for anyone currently wanting a Jagex Account/Launcher on their Linux platform.

Yes; HDOS will be added to the launcher for existing HDOS users. We are working on establishing when this will be available at the moment.

so does this mean if we didn't use HDOS before, it won't be available to us? i've used it a couple times but im not too sure if that qualifies me or if it's a legacy availability sort of thing.

Currently, it will only be available to players that have it currently installed on their device. We'll share more information when we are releasing this on the launcher.

There are good community workarounds to getting the Launcher on Linux Devices but as for right now, it wouldn't be right of me to say this is definitely going to have an official route.

HDOS or bust

Yes; HDOS will be made compatible with the launcher. We're working on establishing just when, but once it's added anybody with HDOS installed will be able to play via the Launcher (and using a Jagex Account).

Lol, I was kind of looking to know what new password requirements are? 10 characters, upper lower number symbol, change every 90 days or something lol.

Maximum of 64 characters. Any symbols, combination of numbers and capital letters are allowed, but the password must meet a minimum strength of 3 (out of a possible 4) according to the Zxcvbn standard.

Hey all, sorry for the confusion, I've edited the HDOS FAQ to clarify.

It now says 'Yes; HDOS will be added to the launcher. We're working on establishing just when, but once it's added anybody with HDOS installed will be able to play via the Launcher (and using a Jagex Account)'.

This means that whether you play using it now, or you intend to once it's Launcher-compatible, will be able to play. Just install it and then choose it in the Launcher.

I wasn't involved in this survey so apologies to those that were - but feel this is worth clarifying, 7% is of the people who completed the survey, not of who have upgraded.

I asked to see some of the responses and not many were issues with the process itself per se. If you can use the Jagex Launcher without issue, you should find that your Jagex account upgrade runs fine (and provides some great security benefits!). I'm happy to answer any concerns during your upgrade process, if you have any.

I've made a Jagex account but the Launcher sometimes closes immediately after I open it. I need to restart my PC or uninstall and reinstall the Launcher to fix this. Can there be a permanent fix to this issue? The client shows an error message all the time after turning on my PC regardless if opening the Launcher is possible or not.

I noticed another thread this evening on the same subject, advice there from a player was to open your Task Manager and close any instances of the launcher that may be running then open the launcher again.

I confess I've not heard of this and since the Jagex Launcher is a separate project team within Publishing Platform (prev. the web team) I'm not as familiar with it. I'll nudge them tomorrow and see what's going on.
