| 10s | As many of you are already aware, |
| 12s | we recently released a brand-new short story |
| 16s | for one of our favorite characters, Baptiste, |
| 18s | that you can go and read right now. |
| 21s | One of our writers, Alyssa Wong, spent a lot of time on this story, |
| 24s | and we had a lot of fun developing it. |
| 26s | One of the things that you all ask us for so much is more story, |
| 31s | and you want to know more about our characters, |
| 33s | and more about the plot of what's happening with Overwatch right now. |
| 38s | So this story's going to give you a lot of insight into who Baptiste is as a person. |
| 44s | It's also really cool because it shows him visiting his homeland of Haiti. |
| 50s | And I don't want to give too many spoilers, |
| 52s | but we introduced some characters from Baptiste's past |
| 56s | who have very unique personalities and backgrounds, |
| 59s | who may or may not become bigger parts of the Overwatch universe |
| 63s | in the future as well. |
| 64s | So we think you're going to have a lot of fun reading Alyssa's short story, |
| 68s | learning more about Baptiste. |
| 70s | We hope you go and enjoy that story right now. |
| 73s | Now, coming very soon |
| 76s | we have a big patch happening, |
| 78s | and there's a lot of cool content in this patch. |
| 81s | Tied to the short story, |
| 84s | we are having an event called Baptiste Reunion Challenge. |
| 89s | And in this challenge, |
| 90s | you will be able to unlock an Epic Skin for Baptiste |
| 95s | by winning 9 matches of Overwatch, |
| 97s | and you can win those in any mode that you want: |
| 100s | Competitive, Quick Play, |
| 102s | one of the Arcade modes. |
| 104s | We think the skin is really awesome. |
| 105s | There are some other rewards as well that you can unlock. |
| 110s | And this challenge is very similar to the Ana Bastet Challenge that we ran, |
| 115s | and the D.Va Nano Cola Challenge, |
| 117s | so a lot of you will be familiar with this format. |
| 120s | We think it's a great way to unlock a really cool skin, |
| 124s | and it's tied in with that story that we're pretty excited about. |
| 127s | So we hope you're enjoying that. |
| 129s | Also, there's just a really big patch coming |
| 131s | with some really cool features. |
| 134s | The feature that I'm personally most excited about is replays. |
| 138s | Replays will allow you... |
| 139s | If you go into your Career Profile |
| 142s | and click on the Replay tab, |
| 145s | replays will allow you to view your last 10 played matches |
| 150s | and look at them from any angle you want to. |
| 153s | You can use all of the spectator tools that we've been developing over the years, |
| 157s | including that cool spectator overlay |
| 160s | that puts the cool little character icons over the map |
| 164s | that you see in our OWL broadcasts. |
| 167s | All of these features will be available to you, including time scaling, |
| 171s | watching from any player's point of view. |
| 174s | We think it's a really cool feature. |
| 176s | We think a lot of you who like to make content based on Overwatch |
| 179s | will make some really cool things using this feature. |
| 183s | And then, for those of us who just play the game and maybe don't make content, |
| 187s | it will just help us realize how we can become better players. |
| 191s | By watching our matches back |
| 194s | and reviewing all the things that we did right and we did wrong, |
| 197s | we'll learn how we can become better players of Overwatch. |
| 200s | So we think this is a really cool feature. |
| 203s | There's a few things that you should know about it. |
| 205s | Just like our highlights system, |
| 208s | when we patch the game, |
| 210s | your old replays will go away. |
| 213s | So make sure that you're not trying to hang onto a replay for too long. |
| 219s | If you really want to save it, we recommend that you export it |
| 222s | using video software, |
| 224s | or using the share features from the various consoles |
| 229s | so you're not hanging onto those replays for too long. |
| 231s | And remember, it will only save your last 10 most recent replays. |
| 236s | But we think this is going to be great. |
| 238s | Also, as a lot of you are already aware - |
| 241s | and it's been live since Stage 3 started in the Overwatch League - |
| 245s | you can now, on PC, |
| 248s | using the special Overwatch Replay Viewer, |
| 251s | you can go and watch Overwatch League replays... |
| 256s | ...shortly after the matches have happened, |
| 258s | which we think is going to be really cool, |
| 260s | allowing you to analyze a lot of data that's happened. |
| 263s | So all of that we think is awesome, |
| 266s | and is available to you now. |
| 268s | There are other changes coming in this patch. |
| 270s | There are minor balance changes. I'm not going into those today. |
| 273s | You'll see those in the patch notes. |
| 276s | They've been on the PTR, |
| 277s | so you can review the patch notes on the PTR |
| 280s | and what players have been saying about it. |
| 282s | We also have changes coming to the Assault mode, |
| 285s | which some of you refer to as 2CP. |
| 288s | Just so you know, we have shaved 1 minute off the time that you get |
| 294s | that is granted to you after you capture Point A |
| 297s | for you to take Point B. |
| 299s | That is 1 minute shorter, |
| 301s | which should speed up Assault rounds somewhat, |
| 305s | and we think that will make a little bit of a difference. |
| 308s | It will also feel a little bit better to you |
| 311s | to not feel like you have to defend Point B for so long. |
| 315s | The match will end a lot sooner. |
| 318s | The other thing that we've done that we really enjoyed |
| 320s | in our internal playtesting |
| 322s | is that if you are defending on Point A and you die, |
| 329s | and the other team, the attacking team, takes Point A, |
| 333s | within a small window, we will nearly instantly respawn you onto Point B, |
| 339s | so that way you have a much better chance of defending Point B |
| 342s | in the case of an attacker snowball. |
| 345s | So we think that's going to feel a lot better as well. |
| 350s | All of these changes are coming very soon. We think they're very good. |
| 354s | We also have a new competitive season coming. |
| 357s | For those of you who love competitive Free-For-All Deathmatch, |
| 362s | we're going to run a competitive Free-For-All Deathmatch season as well, |
| 366s | so this should be a lot of fun, too. |
| 368s | So there's a lot of really cool content coming. |
| 371s | As you all have seen, we just released a great short story, |
| 374s | we're giving you an event to go along with that short story, |
| 377s | we have balance changes, changes coming to some of our game modes, |
| 381s | such as Assault, |
| 382s | and we've got that new competitive Deathmatch season coming. |
| 387s | So it should be a really fun patch. |
| 389s | As always, we're really interested in your feedback on all of these things. |
