Hello r/Overwatch and congratulations on 3 million members!

We’re excited to celebrate with you and want to give you an opportunity to chat directly with the Overwatch development team. Join us on Thursday, July 30th from 1:30 – 3:30 PM PDT | 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM EDT | 20:30 – 22:30 UTC for a Reddit AMA, where a number of Overwatch developers will be present to answer your questions.

For this Reddit AMA, we’ll be answering your questions that pertain to Overwatch today and over the past four years! While we’re very excited for the future of Overwatch, those questions should be held for another time – We don’t have any announcements to discuss today! Come prepared with your questions, we’ll have a fresh thread on the day of the AMA – We’re looking forward to having fun with the community and answering your questions.

We’ll keep an eye on the replies here to see if there are some trending topics, but please note that responses will begin in a separate thread on Thursday!

See you there! Cheers, love!

If they do indeed keep an eye on this thread! My question would be this: "How does the Overwatch team manage to keep every new character fresh and innovative the longer the game goes on? Are these characters created in response to current gameplay trends in the game or are these characters created as a way to push out an entirely new style of gameplay? Also what was the team's favorite character to create and why was it Mama Hong?"

We see you! These are great questions, be sure to come back with these on Thursday - Think there's potential for a lot of great insight on hero design!

Will there be a new thread post when the AMA session starts? If so where could I find it

Yes! We will create a new pinned thread within the r/Overwatch subreddit when the AMA begins on 7/30.

Question for overwatch dev team and or also jeff kaplan. Is it a good and fun work environment to be creating and be a part of the Overwatch team? P.S. I as an Overwatch Player/Fan am thankful for your guys work.

I absolutely love working on Overwatch and the team is amazing. I'm regularly inspired by the amazing people that not only directly work on the game but also support us from other groups. Much love to folks in IT, Battle.net, Risk, Game Security, Customer Service, Localization, etc.

The community regularly inspires me. It's why you'll find me on reddit and our forums regularly outside of the AMA. Thanks for being a player and a fan, we're thankful for you! <3
