Every gamer has a group of developers that they idolise. I have spent half my life obsessed with games made by David Brevik and Max and Erich Schaefer. They founded Condor/Blizzard North and created Diablo I and Diablo II, as well as contributing to many other amazing games at Blizzard and their other companies. The fact that this career allowed me to meet them is one of the highlights of my life, both professionally and personally. Since then, we have become good friends, meeting up multiple times a year while travelling, and sharing our experiences with game development.
We're excited to announce that David, Max and Erich will be attending ExileCon! They'll join us at the two VIP dinners and will be hosting a signing session at the convention, so feel free to bring any merchandise you'd like them to sign. They're amazing guys, and their presence at the convention is going to make it such a great weekend.
ExileCon will also feature a racing finale event! Throughout 2019, four different race events will run, hosted by different groups (including some community members), that feature an ExileCon prize package as the first-place prize. The winner of each of these will receive flights and accommodation to ExileCon as well as VIP access to the event. They will then compete in the racing finals on the ExileCon main stage. We'll announce more details in the news over the coming weeks.
Prior to selling tickets, we had no idea how popular the event was going to be. We only sold tickets for the first two floors of the auditorium, which have the best views. Due to them selling so quickly, we have made huge changes to the event to increase its capacity and allow more attendees. This week, we are adding a new type of ticket, "Balcony" tickets. These are otherwise identical to regular tickets but have you seated on the third floor of the auditorium (the Balcony) for keynotes and talks. They are also marginally less expensive. There are still some regular tickets available (which are seated on the first and second floors, with marginally better views).
We will put some more tickets on sale at 2pm Wednesday Pacific Time (9am on Thursday in New Zealand). This batch will include a couple more Ultra VIP tickets, around 50 more VIP tickets and around 200 Balcony tickets. We can't reserve tickets for you, so the only way to get one of the new batch is to be online at exactly the time they go on sale. Good luck!
If you have an existing ticket that you'd like to upgrade to one of the restocked higher-tier ones, there should be an Upgrade button available next to that ticket type. You'll only pay the difference between your current one and the new tier.
We'll post in the news as soon as the new tickets are up for sale in two days!
