The entire point of Standard leagues is that we get to keep our stuff and progression, which serves both players that don't have enough time to play in challenge leagues or those that just prefer the steadiness of permanent leagues. The recent shift to Atlas changes every 3 months is severely undermining that, especially for those with limited time.

Here are the problems:

  1. Map Tabs become unusable until players go through the massive pain of manually relocating every single map they have stored in them.

  2. Converting old maps by 3:1 vendor recipe is the only "quick" way to update map pool to new series, and that obviously leaves us with 3 times as few map items as before.

  3. But if we run them to avoid wasting 2/3 of them, old maps don't count for Atlas objectives, aren't affected by influence and can't be sextanted.

  4. Old maps ruin shaped Atlases by completing all maps up to and including the map tier run. I'd rather have it stay this way than re-do the entire Atlas every league, but players who want to shape their Atlases have to waste a lot of currency on Cartographer's Seals.

  5. Unique map completion is lost, including the hard to get maps such as Perandus Manor and Doryani's Machinarium. This time unique map completion was preserved, but we had no confirmation if it's going to stay this way.

Chris Wilson hinted last month that all of this is eventually going to get fixed, but since then we had no further details or ETA.

Sorry we haven't spoken about this yet! We don't have a solution mapped up for this but you can trust that the subject has been raised within the team any times in the last few weeks. I have personally brought it up on several occasions. While we don't have a solution to announce yet we are committed to improving this situation in time for 3.7.0.
