I was playing around with soul's wick and was curious if the changes to desecrate

"Raise Spectre's most recent monster types are now saved to your character and may be Desecrated. The size of this list is capped by your Spectre limit." - 3.17

So logically, this would mean that if i had a spectre limit of 2, then +2 from souls wick, i should now have 4 different monsters i could technically add into my pool to use for mapping, right? This is not how this works.

For some reason, instead you completely lose your spectre banking ability into your desecrate pool. I've tested in my hideout casting desecrate and seeing my banked spectres spawn, then i pop in soul's wick, and desecrate again and all of my banked spectres no longer spawn!

Whats even stranger is that this doesnt seem to have the same effect when in a map after unsocketing the jewel, desecrating some of your banked spectres, then resocketing the jewel, as you can still get the banked spectres spawn, but only up the limit you had prior to adding souls wick (so in this case you can bank only 2 spectres, not 4) Has anyone else played around with this and noticed this issue? Has there been any reports of this being a bug or intentional from GGG?

This is not a bug. The entire point of Soul's Wick is to prevent bringing specific spectres with you and use what corpses you find in the area as temporary minions, while providing a generically useful power boost to reduce the power gap between that playstyle and the regular ability to have specific types of spectre all the time and optimise around them.
