[2020] Can someone explain open hand technique?

This sh*t just looks busted right out of the gate. Unless I REALLY suck at math and I did my calculations completely wrong, are we getting as much added flat damage as I think we are? I know you can’t use gloves and it requires nothing in both hand slots, but even then it just seems completely bonkers.

Someone tell me if it’s ok or not.

Disabled items are not equipped.
