Before I say anything else, the unique collection tab is a wonderful thing, I'm so happy it's in the game, thank you so much for this, GGG. That being said--it's feedback time.
I just ran through the list of unique items in the wiki, noting down all the uniques that have multiple variants a collector such as myself might want to hoard away, and then seeing which ones had slots for each version and which ones did not. I discovered that the Unique Tab is wildly inconsistent about which items get slots for every variant--it's not about raw base types, like Doryani's Delusion or The Beachhead. I can't figure out what the pattern is.
Uniques that have multiple variants, all of which have a slot in the Unique Collection Tab:
The Beachhead
Combat Focus
Doryani's Delusion
Grand Spectrum
Impresence
Volkuur's Guidance
Uniques with a small number of variants but only one slot:
Atziri's Splendour
Aul's Uprising
Doryani's Invitation
Poorjoy's Asylum
Vessel of Vinktar
Yriel's Fostering
There are also a few other uniques with huge numbers of variations, ones too wide-ranging to justify multiple slots--Watcher's Eye is the king, obviously, but Eyes of the Greatwolf, Skin of the Lords, the various Precursor's Emblem results (there's even multiple slots for this unique already and it doesn't come close to covering them all), Shadowstitch, and uniques with Veiled modifiers are pretty huge groupings. On the more reasonable end of things, there's only one slot for uniques that can have one or two abyssal sockets, and foil uniques from reliquary keys don't have their own slots either.
I'd also personally like to advocate for some kind of sub-slot for String of Servitude, because the entire point of the item is its corrupted implicit--how am I supposed to pick which one to put in my set of perfect uniques? Perhaps that sets another inconsistent precedent. Oh well.
