I haven t participated in a race in a long time so i'm not sure it s still the case, but i loved how we could log in in advance and wait on the beach for the race to start. I see a few upside :

- Since we don t all log at the same time, there should be less server stress

- It s more fair for racers as we all start at the same time without queue

- Waiting on the beach has been my favorite time to experience global chat, it s also great to chat with friends and get the hype going for the new league

Why is this only a thing for races and not leagues?

I can only see how this would make load worse.

Now instead of having people slowly filling in game servers and generating instances on different times, with people in different areas you have everyone with a copy of the beach running at the same time and it'll be thousands of people all trying to create instances in very similar times.

Queue is there for a reason. Races are events so less people play and the load in general is lower, it's also crucial for races where in league start what we had (not this league) was fair enough already.

Not sure why you were downvoted. Everyone arriving in town at the same time is the main issue with these sorts of starts. Having said that, this is something we are discussing to see how it could potentially work for the future. Secondarily, there’s an issue where if we did that we would have to figure out what to do with people basically logging into Standard an hour early.
