Hey /r/pathofexile, I'm not sure if this is something you just have to get used to, but I'm coming to realize that the single most painful thing for me as a new player to deal with is how PoE seems to very slowly lure enemies towards you after you've cleared an area around say Zana, or the cart stopping point in delve, or what have you, in order to kill you while you are trying to figure out your next move. It's not a huge deal outside of hardcore, but it just doesn't seem to be how the game ought to challenge players. I'm dying just as often to red map bosses with crazy mods as I am to random white mobs 16 levels below me as I try to read text, and I can't imagine that's what GGG is hoping for.

For the record, this does not actually happen.

Monsters very far from the player(s) are asleep and cannot do anything.

Monsters which are close enough to the player to be awake, but cannot see the player will wander at random, which can sometimes bring them close enough to see the player, or may move them far enough away that they're put to sleep, and pause until the player gets closer again. They are not lured, and they are no more likely to wander towards the player than away.
