[2020] Why is there suddenly a hacking epidemic?

I have been playing since September 2016, joined the sub in October. Never experienced nor saw complaints of hacking until recently. What happened?

Edit: Also, Dev response but no "Dev response"... is the hacking on Reddit too? /s
