I have been playing around with the Bastion for a while and still haven’t figured out how to enter those four locked seats, anyone have any ideas?
Also, some feedback on the state of PTS as of now before the 4-March play test.
Sanctuary is now much easier to look at without a sunglasses. The two frontal hard points of the Bastion now correctly gives hitmarker when being damaged, and can be once again locked by Tomcats. Flak round now damages the hard point, however currently no proximity detonation and must be direct hit. Steel Rain drop pods steers much better than live drop pod in first person and is no longer have reverted view on minimap while dropping in first person, however I don’t know if this applies to beacon drop pods. Also, one of the best parts in this update imo: Infiltrators can no longer capture the point while cloaked, less stalker cheese to deal with.
Bugs/Balance Issues: critical chain is still broken, and the effect persists even after you unequip it. Capture timer has disappeared from HUD in base being attacked and can only be viewed on the world map. Bastion turning is still “glitchy”. Citadel Shield is way too weak at the moment for its crafting price, OS basically does full damage through it and the floating pod is too vulnerable to aircraft fire. 39 seats for 39 free ESFs might be a bit too much now that the Bastion hard points has been buffed with shield and are much harder to kill with aircraft. Some Outfit-deployed last Orbital Strikes are still duh. Also, NSO can’t be accessed on PTS, again.
A lot of the bugs previously addressed has been fixed and some nice mechanics added. I do not notice any crazy performance jump during the scrim on Hossin both ground and air during Bastion vs Bastion at “almost” full setting. I haven’t seen any crashes or new bugs that people could abuse to the crap town. Escalation is in a good position now for another round of polishing before being pushed to live.
PS: the Interceptor “noseguns” are the most satisfying thing to see in third person while the other person is dogfighting you with them. It shoots from two wing-mounted machine guns and looks exactly like those WW2 fighters when shooting, only in greater detail when hover dogfighting. Also, they are extremely competitive with the exact same stats as the default noseguns, just with almost three times the ammo per magazine.
