I'm making this thread to help RPG sort through the mess of just people complaining and people actually making good points about changes that should be implemented. I'll try and keep the main post updated with ideas that seem pretty reasonable. Please drop your own ideas in the comments, and make sure to keep it civil - no personally attacking Wrel or RPG for the issues.

  1. Add some ISO and A7 back to Alerts. While you've done a good job of quieting all the people who felt like they had to do alerts all the time for rewards, the pendulum has swung too far, and the alert people are mad now. Adding back some level of A7 and ISO to Alerts is more reasonable, and shouldn't remove the incentive for Missions at all.
  2. Make the leadership rank required for Mentor chat one level higher. Some people are getting spammed with the Mentor stuff which they didn't have before, and it's far too easy for people to gain access and then give faulty advice. Upping the requirement would be better for new players.
  3. Create multiple points within the Shattered Warpgate region where people can complete objectives. With only one or two specific places for people to complete objectives, a complete farm is occurring, further damaging the NPE. Having 5-6 places where these objectives can be completed will split people enough to let folks complete the missions, but still will encourage combat.
  4. Show population numbers inside the Shattered Warpgate region. Will prevent people from riding into a bloodbath.
  5. Keep Esamir open for at least a little while. People not being able to get into Esamir to play the update is no good. Keep it locked open for at least a few weeks to make sure people have access.
  6. Make missions more apparent by pinning them to the HUD by default and by making global timers for larger mission objectives. People being confused by what is going on where is already becoming a bit of an issue. Making it more apparent would be good.
  7. Allow players to choose the rewards they get from missions and/or add more missions. Similar to Elite: Dangerous, this could help people move towards their goals more readily rather than just dealing them random rewards they may not want.
  8. Diversify mission types. Adding back the other alert types as missions and adding more missions that encourage core gameplay (capturing a base, reviving players, etc) will give people more options and focuses rather than diversions from the core gameplay.

Thanks for starting this thread. We're looking at EVERYTHING today (and through the weekend). Regarding rewards, Missions and Rewards both are randomized each day, so it'll be a few days before we have enough data to compare how things are shaking out vs how they were. But we'll keep looking at it and make changes as necessary.

Similar feedback regarding pop near the Shattered Warpgate - right now there's a RUSH to fight around the new area, but I'd expect that will calm down a little bit in a few days. We'll watch and see.

And we definitely have plans to keep adding and diversifying Mission types, both the standard dailies and future Campaign (story) Missions. Many of the newest ones were added late in the process, and we're going to want to see how they perform, how fun/popular they are, etc over the next days and weeks. But more are coming, definitely.
