Hopefully it will come in the future and not any sort of technical limitation. Multiplayer makes a lot of sense in a subscription model like Apple Arcade since it basically adds unlimited replayability and variety for the players to come back to, benefitting both the devs and players, not sure why Apple would gimp the functionality and appeal of a game like this…
Trust me, the team was bickering with Apple over requirements and hoops in order to get multiplayer for over a year.
But they said "no", and that's that.
Why do they not want the game to have multiplayer?
We're not too sure, honestly. They just kept piling on more and more requirements.
Requirements like what? There is not even a chat function where players could be toxic or anything.
It was more technical. They had very specific requirements, like how we could use our servers and other sorts of things, that they pulled on us really late in development.
This is really unfortunate. Hopefully you can sort it out one day.

Hello! New player here. I discovered the game through Apple Arcade and have been playing it a lot with my kids. We all love it. We’ve been doing the hot seat multiplayer and were wondering why the network multiplayer isn’t available. Pretty sad to see Apple forced it off!! But I love that people can post here and get an answer from the devs. Thank you for the info!!
Trust me, we're really bummed, too. We have multiplayer waiting for whenever Apple decides to cooperate.
any updates? I have the game on steam, just wish I could play all the cool skins on the go without spending like 20 extra bucks
