Quetzali should start with organization. The civilization they are inspired by (Aztecs) are known cultivators. Although they did use shields, they were not the scutums that are shown in the game, which are exactly what the Romans/Imperius use.

Imperius should start with strategy. Romans are known for their strategic domination over the middle world with their battlefield masterminds (Caesar). Their shielded formations were top class. It just makes so much sense.

However, since Imperius is a base tribe, I understand why starting with strategy may be complex for new players. Also, Imperius came out like way before.

I mean, if you wanted to get nitpicky about it, all the tribes would have all of the techs, probably.

But even if the tribes are loosely inspired by irl, people, they're not irl people. And thus, this isn't some sort of "history simulator".

Couldn’t you just make quetzali look like imperius because that’s basically what OP is asking for

....no?

And besides, lorewise, we've already firnly established Imperius and Quetzali being based around their respective techs.

Why would we do this?

Ask OP

We are not going to switch the tribes. I can guarantee that.

The lore is already solid on Imperius using Organization and Quetzali using Strategy. Also, while the tribes are loosely based on irl cultures, they're not meant to be 1:1. The Polytopians aren't even human!
