89s they are very uh yeah they are from the

112s popular U because he he plays polium and
115s a lot of people who who will be watching
118s this stream probably got Meister lamp as
120s as I say because my Lampa barely looks
124s as anything so it yeah hello hi

133s today with us um like I said we will be
136s featuring uh barter games so um to give
141s people um some time to to tune in Let's
144s uh let's uh discuss b a bit uh they are
148s um so they used to be have uh one of if
151s not the the strongest game in the tribe
154s right uh the path path of the of the
157s ocean has changed that so your
161s thoughts yeah so right now um B still a
165s turn zero tribe of course so they are
168s generally on the stronger
170s side um they obviously got hit by the
173s update by the path of the ocean update
175s but that one also happened like 15
179s months ago already
181s could you explain maybe why what
183s happened why why they were nerfed so the
186s main thing that hit Bor was that the
188s price of lumber Huts was increased from
190s two stars to three stars and with Bor
193s starting with the hunting Tech Forest
196s tree was and often still is a common
199s first tech for them and nowadays you
203s often see um organization or riding or
206s maybe fishing instead of Forestry as the
209s first tech
211s but that definitely was one of the main
214s reasons that turn B in one of the weaker
217s turn zero tries and a question to you
221s forter because so Lumber Huts was was
223s one thing but the other was I want to
225s remind I want to remind us all that um
228s this isn't even the first time that
230s barter has been nerfed and barter used
232s to be even stronger than that back when
236s chop was still two stars like there was
238s a whole like year or two of of of the
242s polytop and beta where barter was the
246s most powerful tribe like unquestionably
248s the most powerful tribe uh for at least
250s a couple of versions because in the
252s early game they could very they you know
254s start with hunting they have a lot of
256s trees and every tree that you would chop
258s would give you two stars so it'd be very
260s common to be able to get uh like a first
262s Giant on like turn four or or sometimes
266s faster um so barter has taken a lot of
269s hits and it's still a super solid dbe
271s mainly because uh as Meister said it's
273s still turn zero you can still get your
275s workshop on turn zero but um yeah
278s between chop getting uh reduced to to
282s one star instead of two and then you
284s know months later uh or maybe a year or
287s two later I guess uh yeah the uh the
291s lumber Hut Nerf uh hit them pretty hard
293s so second time second time nerfed but uh
296s yeah still an excellent tribe very
298s versatile yeah I think of even more
300s instances where they got hit because um
303s originally they also had like 75% animal
306s rate or something like that that that I
308s did not even that was that was before my
310s time yeah so it was like absolutely
312s crazy you just get the Border growth in
314s the capital with a two star shops and
317s you can just immediately go
321s crazy and uh let's um let's discuss
324s about the the a bit at the rider roads
328s because it was also a very strong
329s strategy
331s with with barter so not only popping
333s Giants but but also using Riders to
336s dominate your your
339s enemies Yeah so basically I'd say there
342s are two main military approaches for
344s bardur they kind of got the option to
347s choose between Riders and
349s archers often you even want to get both
352s and the advantage of riding of course is
355s that writing TS into roads and Roads is
358s like a very crucial Tech in polyopia
360s here because the extra range of your
362s units allows you to arrange the enemy
364s units or transport your Giants
366s faster and then there's also archery you
370s can also basically get as your first
372s tech since you start with hunting and
375s archery and gives the Warriors a defense
378s bonus so now they can survive three hits
381s from the other early game units instead
383s of two and archers are great at like
387s keeping opponent's City completely
390s unusable because if you have two archers
392s sitting next to their City they
394s basically cannot train anything in
398s it any words from you about the Border
401s strategy fer I mean Meister sites Ryder
405s roads but rder roads is like a Premier
408s Choice for any of the human tribes uh I
411s it's unlike on lakes or dry or or what
413s have you um I feel like barter specific
417s strategies like like me said going for
419s fast art
420s is is really good or the other option I
423s would say would be to rush Giants with
426s math uh and then go with like uh giant
429s push backed with catapults so that you
432s know one of the main defenses against
434s Giants is is often to get your own
436s Giants right to pop those on your
437s Frontline cities and push uh the the
440s advancing Giants back but you know if if
443s you've gotten your Giants using math as
445s opposed to like construction or or
448s forges or something uh then your Giants
450s can be backed with catapults and then
452s like you know a catapult two catapult
455s hits uh one Warrior lets uh freshly
458s popped giant uh puts it low enough that
460s a giant can Siege so uh when you're
463s advancing your your first wave of Giants
465s and it's backed with catapults you can
467s you can sometimes just overwhelm the
469s front line a lot more cleanly
474s so so summarizing it's either archery or
478s or rder roads what about the late game
481s what's what's the uh barter's
484s primary strategy to to finish off the
488s the
489s opponent well I think if they if they
492s went in with a lot of uh with
494s mathematics because of all of the trees
498s uh and once you've got your Sawmills up
500s um I'd say after ride a road you you
503s pick up trade uh get some
505s markets uh then you can just afford well
507s every Tech but um then you just you know
510s spam out a ton of giants a lot of
512s catapults and some Knights and just
514s through good micro you try to advance
516s like that I would say like barter is
518s definitely a landbased army tribe um and
523s it's it's very I would say Giant and
525s catapult focused uh more so than a lot
528s of the other
529s tribes anything to add M lumper yeah so
534s mainly I would like to add that you
536s can't be that specific about like a late
538s game uh strategy especially for a
540s generic tribe like Bor because basically
543s after you get your Giants with
545s mathematics you have like all the
548s options in the game basically maybe you
550s got like a good for yeah but I I would I
553s would argue so uh you don't see a lot of
556s you know
558s cloaks uh with uh with barter it's
561s rather
563s Knights I think cloaks uh can be good
566s especially on legs where you want
568s strategy anyways since spor has a good
571s fruit rate you usually get
574s organization and if you're also playing
576s on lakes or aripo when you probably want
579s strategy for Defenders for higher HP
582s boats and then if you have a good option
586s because for example you put your
588s opponent's City you have like two
590s catapults or a bunch of archers next to
592s them M and maybe they pop the giant that
595s City earlier then it's like a free
597s Target for a cloak so I wouldn't rule
600s cloaks in fact um I have used them to
603s great success in one game this
605s month yeah there will there will be so
608s uh like a hint hint hint on wink wink
611s where there will be a recorded game and
613s you'll see cloaks there so if you are
616s interested in seeing uh cloaks uh in bar
620s environments uh there will be a game

627s last thoughts some tips maybe for for
629s new players who want to start playing
631s barter and uh yeah what what do you
634s recommend what should they focus on if
637s if they want to be uh really excel in uh
640s in ber so in the early game I would
643s definitely make sure that you always
645s take the workship in the first turn and
648s then usually you almost always want to
650s train another warrior in turn one and
652s two mhm and then after that you kind of
655s decide based on which resources you get
657s because there's a lot of VAR
660s ability the resources you get with Bor
663s obviously getting to animals in every
665s city is great but Aro doesn't have that
669s high of an animal rate so you often look
671s like organization or forestry should May
674s mainly adjust to what you get if you
677s have like lots of forest great s spot
680s when you go mathematics otherwise you
682s maybe go riding or if you know that you
685s have to fight your opponent early and
687s there are a lot of there are lots of
689s forest way when you go arer it's mainly
692s about
694s readjusting F sir no no I agree with
697s Meister it's it's a flexible tribe and
700s in polytopia the map generation is
703s pretty random um like there's some
705s things that are fairly constant uh and
708s there are tendencies that you'll get but
710s it's not like you can say specifically
712s oh yes follow this build until turn five
714s because you don't know you just don't
716s know what you're going to get sometimes
717s your first city can be delayed until
719s like turn four or five even uh based on
722s just Discovery so be flexible as well
726s yeah be be flexible be ready to adjust
728s but um if you're not if you're new to
731s the tribe I would always also start with
732s uh turn zero
734s Workshop okay so let's uh stop uh the
738s discussion here you uh if you want to
741s learn more about border there is a link
743s to our uh Wikipedia and yeah there was
748s more about them there so go ahead and
752s and check this link uh okay so adding
755s the the games yeah so all right the the
760s the stage is yours we've got we've got
763s four games here uh these are highlights
766s from the recent barter
769s poly uh so this is a live format meaning
772s that these games are played on a timer
775s uh you start out with about 90 you start
777s out with 90 seconds uh to make your move
780s and any time that you save transfers
782s over to your next turn and you'll also
784s get a little bit of extra time for every
785s city and every unit that you've got so
789s this is all played on a clock um so
792s maybe we're not going to see the most
793s calculated plays but we do see two
797s players um spawning in the west Corner
801s uh we've got P what was his name hang on
806s a
807s second oh oh no the oh
810s right
812s right and uh spotting in the South we
815s have vorce who we've seen a lot of in
818s the past and who I think we're going to
819s see a lot more of because he's one of
821s the ones who uh helps get us these games
824s and and selects and organizes all of
826s this for us yeah Kos do Force yeah also
830s pretty standard stuff for both here both
833s opting for organization because they
834s needed to upgrade their cities
841s fighting
845s here Liberator gets a uh the city in the
849s center which is huge he gets his first
852s explorer I'm just going to turn off
853s shared fog really quick so we can see
855s exactly what it is that he sees and it
858s actually picks up the lighthouse which
859s is always nice and also really good
862s Vision on force and now he only needs
865s mathematics for a giant yeah Force gets
868s a a veteran sword man ruin uh on the
871s front line that's that's amazing and it
873s even pushes him in to get uh to get a
876s meeting yeah this is very hard to deal
878s with L Liberator immediately chops
881s everything in that City because he knows
883s he's going to lose
885s it so yeah that's also something uh you
888s should always do if you're about to lose
890s the city chop everything so you at least
893s get the stars for forest and your
895s opponent can't use
896s them yeah Liberator gets his first Giant
899s the
900s mathematics I think that's a good choice
903s because if he's lost this and he has
904s this choke to defend uh having some rang
907s units uh will make it really hard for
909s vce to advance further especially
911s because vorce now is is ahead on cities
913s two to
917s one yeah meanwhile vorce goes for Ryder
920s roads approach his Explorer misses the
922s lighthouse that's uh typical
931s Rose is going to give vce a lot more
933s flexibility um and with him being able
936s to out produce Liberator definitely has
938s to play really carefully no let's take a
941s look at this turn right okay let me let
943s me switch over to
946s uh shared fog off so we can see what
950s vorce
950s sees yeah basically what vorce wants to
953s do is get Siege of the veteran swordsman
956s the capital he already sets it up with
958s the ryer mhm and then the veteran
961s swordsman could just move
963s in um is it an unbreakable Siege it's
966s not unbreakable yet because um giant
969s plus Warrior can kill a veteran
971s swordsman but it would put lator into a
975s really rough spot well there's an
977s unbreakable siege for vorce for sure but
980s he definitely has to move everything
982s exactly right um if veteran swordsman
985s moves to this mountain and then
987s sieges the only unit range are these two
990s Warriors he has enough to afford another
993s road to get in and he can actually clear
996s with these two units he can clear this
998s and then just tap uh he'd have an
1001s unbreakable Siege yeah right if he also
1003s hits war in the bottom then luor is only
1006s left with a 40 HP Giant and 5 HP Warrior
1010s and that would be unbreakable correct
1012s yeah 40j only does uh 14 damage to a
1016s swordsman but uh since this is all
1018s played live it can be hard to calculate
1020s all of that out so vorce does Miss an
1022s unbreakable Siege and we're going to go
1025s uh into this game a little bit deeper I
1029s guess yeah I I texted with him and he he
1033s said he uh flopped in this situation so
1038s yeah also he like some misplace while
1040s upgrading the cities where like the
1042s roads too early then he couldn't afford
1044s have a fre upgrade and then probably
1047s also misses out on more upgrades but
1049s let's see how this goes
1052s on like right here I would like to see
1055s The Liberator to just use Park of
1057s Fortune right like you po his giant but
1060s never used it yet like for example you
1062s can go mining here pick up a mine and
1064s place Park of Fortune and you have three
1066s Giants against rers should be like
1069s really
1070s good
1072s mhm I mean he couldn't I think he was
1075s one star short of that right no he
1077s trying to catapult that's why it was oh
1080s no no eight 18 stars uh it would have
1082s been 14 for uh oh wait no he has
1086s climbing so for the mine and then you
1090s also just place the park of Fortune for
1091s a giant oh yeah so he could have he
1094s could have absolutely done
1099s that it can be hard to use all of your
1101s resources efficiently though when you're
1103s under
1107s time all right
1110s tries to retake the city and it also
1112s looks like that's probably going to work
1114s out for him so that's some good news at
1118s least yeah vorce finally getting his
1121s first giant here on turn 11 it's quite a
1123s bit behind liberators and he goes for a
1125s border growth on this city um do you
1129s think he's doing that just to get access
1130s to the water or just to get access to
1132s extra trees so that he can make more
1134s than one giant I think it's definitely
1136s for water aess like if you go back
1138s before for the Border
1140s Grove um he had absolutely no way to
1144s enter that Lake because like his border
1146s is right outside of it and like the only
1149s chance to get into the lake is if he
1151s finds a city in the Northeast like he
1153s knows there is one because he sees with
1155s fish and resources only spawn in a uh
1159s only spawn two tiles around
1163s cities but if he wants to have any
1165s chance to enter the lake he has to take
1167s the Border Groove
1172s yeah it looks like Liberator already H
1174s is is a bit ahead of horse in terms of
1177s uh getting his uh access to the other
1180s side of the map on the other side of the
1181s water what do you think about his
1183s decision to move have moved from here to
1185s to go for the ruin before going for the
1188s village do you think that's the right
1189s order I mean he has a warrior in a port
1193s that can take the village so I think
1195s that's not a bad decision
1202s Liberator goes for a capture and vorce
1205s loses one uh star per turn from his
1209s capital I like the way he's sneaking his
1211s two units across trying to get to this
1214s uh bit of fog in the light house that
1215s his Explorer very conveniently
1221s missed for Wars as
1226s well like the text picked up
1229s like let's say it's interesting to take
1232s archery here because or did he get us
1234s from a ruin yeah I I felt like he didn't
1237s need archery because uh Liberator
1239s already has mathematics and with
1241s catapults already um I feel like there's
1244s definitely ways to abuse the terrain
1246s especially here where we have this this
1248s small Lake that's exactly two tiles
1250s across everywhere um like if he's able
1253s to place a catapult over here or even
1256s where this one currently is it's very
1258s hard for for like anything like it's
1261s difficult for an Archer to get itself
1263s into range because you'd have to get all
1264s the way to this tile or all the way here
1267s this is like a very defensible position
1269s uh to have a catapult so that would be
1272s uh I would probably have have skipped
1274s archery as a liberator here vorce goes
1278s for a nice bounce off this Warrior to
1280s pick up the
1283s lighthouse and fishing and gets into the
1286s water also
1291s Liberator makes a very forward catapult
1294s here uh which is makes it dangerous for
1296s vor's
1298s Giants uh and I think that's what ends
1300s up prompting Force to to go into archery
1303s as a as a counter for catapult I I don't
1306s like that you moved the other catapult
1308s backward like he could have just moved
1310s both forward for like maximum
1312s pressure yeah catapult here would even
1315s have been able to shut down production
1316s at uh at vor's West base like could
1319s leave it here and just always just shoot
1322s anything that gets made uh never do
1324s anything else or even just sit there and
1325s threaten to shoot it just to constrict
1328s vorce down to two bases of of unit
1335s production Force getting another
1337s Lighthouse and another giant well that
1340s that's the useful part but got the giant
1342s at least yep
1353s Liberator is definitely
1356s taking use for the Liberator kind of
1359s SP oh it's still not out oh he could
1362s have he could have saved a lot of he
1364s could have saved a lot of money on an
1365s upgrade um doing that then yeah maybe
1368s he's just maybe he's just waiting to uh
1371s to spawn another giant he could do it
1374s this turn very easily with a mine and
1376s his uh his Monument if if he so
1381s chose instead goes for units which is
1384s fine
1389s too what do you think about the way
1391s actually let me go back a second what do
1393s you think about the way Liberator uh
1395s moved from this position because I
1396s thought this was interesting where vorce
1398s has his three Giants moved up uh and
1400s Liberator has his two um how would you
1403s have played
1405s this uh like defense of of this front
1408s line would you have defended this front
1412s line
1414s um well he
1417s can yeah it's not the easiest position I
1421s guess um but he could play off of the
1424s defense boost the problem is that he
1426s only has one catapult right now and the
1429s Catapult can also be threatened by War's
1432s archers so maybe you're just forced to
1434s move
1435s back but he obviously wants to use the
1438s the Catapult to to shoot one
1442s Archer it's like a tricky position
1444s basically I would say that you always
1446s had to train another catapult behind
1448s instead of a warrior because this like
1451s position you can't really defend but if
1453s you move back you also
1455s lose yeah yeah this Warrior does nothing
1458s yeah this is this is this a difficult
1460s spot and and the warrior maybe wasn't
1462s the best buy I I would probably have
1464s pulled the Catapult back one and made a
1466s second uh and just maybe healed the
1469s giant here even though I think it'll
1471s probably be killed because
1473s otherwise uh if if he kills it with
1475s enough with enough units left over he'd
1477s be able to threaten the catapults with
1479s an Archer but this is this is a tough
1481s spot that Liberator put himself in based
1484s on the units that he made last turn so I
1486s guess instead he decides to uh instead
1489s prioritize uh gaining water control I
1493s don't know why he sacrificed this
1494s Warrior and didn't sacrifice this one
1499s not sure maybe calculated specific
1501s interaction or
1503s [Laughter]
1509s not yeah he's definitely gaining control
1511s over the Legos so yeah Force only has
1514s his his one port and his I guess really
1517s only three bases of production so if um
1521s yeah if Liberator just continues to
1523s prioritize water he will definitely be
1525s able to hold that down yeah like he
1526s really just has to defend on land
1529s yeah and he's getting he's getting all
1531s of the extra cities over here also I
1533s don't think there's anything vorce can
1534s do to contest
1538s those yeah that veteran swordsman also
1540s nullified now that there are no support
1543s units left yeah good good positioning of
1546s his uh of Liberator archers also oh look
1549s at that finally he us oh finally uses
1552s that Monument that's been bothering me
1555s since turn five yeah turn 18
1559s gets gets uh his border growth and then
1562s gets a
1564s park so I I I read in the notes right um
1568s about what happened here and and why in
1571s this position um you would get a park in
1574s instead of a giant uh Meister do you
1577s have any ideas why you would get a park
1579s here instead of a
1580s giant yeah basically if you run out of
1584s time after upgrading a City the game
1587s just chooses one randomly for you and in
1590s this casee that happened to be a Park
1593s which is not really what you want to see
1595s in multiplayer games especially might
1598s games where you have to kill your
1600s opponent and especially in the front
1603s line yeah Liberator maybe uh could have
1606s waited if he was out of time if if if
1608s you're down if you're if you're playing
1610s a polium uh and you're down to two
1612s seconds and you're considering popping a
1614s giant if you're not sieged uh maybe just
1617s wait cuz if he had if if he had saved
1619s his killer monument and popped this next
1620s turn after being sieged he'd still be
1622s able to pop the Giant and push push off
1624s he would even have been able to chip the
1626s giant twice with a or once I guess with
1628s a full health catapult uh then he'd be
1632s able to push the giant Off With His and
1634s that would have that would have bought
1635s him some extra time um but it also would
1637s have prevented him from getting a park
1639s this time yeah you could also discuss
1640s like the decision how he upgrade the
1643s city besides that like I think the
1645s Border grow was a nice idea
1649s because you deny like the roads and so
1651s on yeah I I actually did like that
1654s decision I I thought border growthing
1656s this city made a lot of sense and I
1658s think that's what I would have done also
1660s uh it also gets you like you know access
1662s to replacement resources and additional
1665s water access if you need it um like if
1668s he was able to hold this city and get a
1669s giant if you know once he's able to to
1672s push vorce back he'd be able to Port his
1674s units a lot closer to the front line
1676s which might help him close the game out
1678s more of course that that would be
1679s predicated on him you know hang hanging
1682s on to the base
1683s um the important First Step was not
1686s losing the
1687s city
1691s exactly so now in his turn yeah he can't
1695s quite hold can he pop a giant here like
1698s was there an available un siege for this
1700s I see well he could have if he placed
1703s the Sawmill on a different tile instead
1705s of a level one spot maybe I guess it's
1708s true well what about like uh fish animal
1712s hut hut and two
1713s P
1716s 118 yeah it's 20 Stars yet would
1719s work wait 1 two uh five 6 7 8 9 10 oh
1725s yeah 20 24 Stars so he could have he
1728s could have actually popped a giant this
1729s turn just by taking the remaining
1731s resources and putting two but but like
1734s you have to keep in mind like the turn
1736s before already ran out of time so yeah
1739s he doesn't start with too much time
1741s either
1753s yeah and yeah it looks like he just
1756s decides to give it up and upgrade the
1757s other cities yeah he's he's decided to
1760s just focus on Naval I mean in his
1762s defense if he has really good Naval
1764s control if you know he might be able to
1767s retake the city eventually because it is
1769s kind of accessible like by bombers not
1771s that we have that Tech yet but um that
1773s might have been the thought process of
1775s okay I don't need the city now I'll just
1777s take it back
1779s later he might be thinking about taking
1782s it with the catapults Archer and the
1784s giant or something like that yeah he can
1787s definitely Siege this turn I also don't
1790s really agree with him having moved this
1793s raft into this city border because he
1795s was going to lose the city he should
1796s have he should have just moved it to one
1798s Square uh one tile north of that he
1801s might have been able to use that to get
1802s an extra shot
1804s in well I think he also had like a
1806s really easy reege here if he just uses
1808s two catapults Archer and giant to Siege
1811s but instead he just decides should be
1813s other units instead oh yeah that's true
1816s yeah two catapults uh yeah Archer moves
1819s back shoots and then yeah the the giant
1822s does siege although and I don't know if
1824s he would have been able to calculate
1825s this vorce could have unseed by popping
1828s a giant for 24
1831s Stars
1833s yeah because because Liberator forgot to
1835s chop his City Y he he remembered that
1838s earlier on when he chopped the first
1840s time vorce took it the second time vorce
1842s took it he didn't remember to chop those
1845s trees so vorce actually can pop another
1847s giant there
1848s himself especially
1851s um because I think he also has the added
1854s Road connection so actually he would
1855s only need the one port
1860s yeah and here I think it's the the
1862s breaking point because Liberator is
1866s losing slowly losing um the naval
1871s superiority I think the naval still find
1873s the main problem is that he's fighting
1875s next to the coast where War The Archers
1878s y that also doesn't hold this turn so
1882s and like his catapults also like slowly
1885s dying
1888s yeah with with with uh Liberator being
1891s out of uh Giants in the front line uh
1894s his catapults are very exposed so
1896s they're probably going to be dying a
1897s little faster than
1901s slowly he doesn't Retreat though from
1904s his position he just kind of holds
1905s ground uh and I think that's the point
1908s that that was like the last chance for
1910s him to have pulled back um at this point
1913s force is just closing in all around him
1915s is way too many uh units on land
1920s yeah like I like to preach but if you
1922s have the option to go Naval or the
1924s option to go land you should almost
1926s always go for land because the land
1929s units are just cheaper if you consider
1932s like how we trade against nav
1935s units yeah and it was in this position
1937s uh that the Liberator uh resigned the
1940s game
1942s yep
1944s GG's and like especially if you don't
1947s get like the um
1948s like if your capital is next to the
1950s water then going water is better because
1953s you get Port
1954s connections but if you don't even have
1957s that you usually want to Prior and you
1960s usually want to prioritize land
1963s more unless you have like your position
1966s on land lock down where can't really be
1968s anything done then you probably want to
1970s consider going on the water because like
1972s bombers late game can be really
1975s strong I'm not sure if you're going to
1977s see that and any of the games we're
1979s reviewing today no I I I don't think so
1982s okay let's jump into the next game all
1987s right let me open this up there we
1990s go so who do we have here all right
1995s so uh who do we have here oh spawning in
1999s the South we have our boy
2002s Voris and uh the east corner spawn
2005s roughly Northeast uh this is youve

2036s yeah what I have to say about response
2039s like look at the fruits that I know
2043s here yeah youve you've has a very fruity
2046s spawn uh for sure um so definitely going
2049s to be looking at organization first and
2051s vorce gets kind of an early Advantage I
2053s would say by by reaching this forward
2055s City although I guess since you doesn't
2058s see it he's going to pull back to the
2059s village that he can
2063s get yeah it doesn't hurt him too much
2066s and crucially we also know know here um
2069s H knows that Wars took that City and
2073s that's why he decides to take an
2074s Explorer here mhm
2078s yeah Explorer going for a fast
2082s Lighthouse yeah like usually you don't
2084s like the Explorer starts going back but
2087s here the extra population from the
2089s lighthouse actually allowed him to
2091s upgrade his Capital again yeah that
2093s definitely helps jump start his economy
2095s a little and he had really pretty
2097s complete vision of everything that vorce
2099s was doing uh right from the early game
2101s so he has a little bit of extra time
2104s while we're still in the early game and
2105s there's not that much time pressure yet
2107s he has a little more time to strategize
2108s and
2110s plan Force meanwhile finally seeing the
2113s uh the opponent's
2115s border loses his forward Warrior let's
2119s and let's talk about the decision to go
2120s riding here again sure um because I was
2124s thinking um he had um 11 Stars I
2129s believe so you can either go riding and
2132s then make Warrior and the rider or just
2135s the rider or you can go archery get the
2138s defense bonus for the Archer for the
2140s Warriors and make an Archer and like
2143s especially because you can only make
2145s like one tier two unit either way I
2147s would always choose archery here
2150s especially with like this aggressive
2152s position that you already had right if
2155s like this um path over Warriors to the
2157s city um of Wars where you get defense
2160s bonus all the time so it's like really
2162s oppressive if he gets a defense boosted
2165s Warrior next to the city and trains an
2167s Archer I thought it was actually okay
2169s for him to go Riders I know we're
2171s disagreeing a little bit here but I
2173s thought it was fine because there's not
2174s really that many trees on the front line
2177s um and if if you was to chop this tree
2181s on his uh his like you know the West
2183s tile here of his C2 um he would have
2187s like pretty clean access to this front
2190s City and this is in a bit of a choke so
2192s like it's true that you could you know
2194s kind of get a surround with archers but
2197s I thought that riding was an okay
2198s decision here also especially if he was
2200s considering like going for mathematics
2203s anyway because he's going to have to get
2204s a forestry for his his he can get a
2206s population a pop growth giant here with
2209s just forestry and the org that he
2210s already has um so I feel like if he was
2213s going to go for Fast Math uh then I
2215s thought then I thought it was okay for
2217s him
2218s I think m is will play here I think if
2220s you go riding you should um just go for
2223s the capital Giant and then because you
2226s take riding you can get roads faster and
2228s then you reach a City faster with a
2230s giant yeah that would that would
2232s absolutely work too I I'm not sure if
2234s that's what he ends up doing I don't
2236s remember exactly but yeah he goes riding
2238s and gets his first
2239s Rider population ruin from from vorce I
2243s normally am not a fan of of population
2247s ruins this early cuz I always feel like
2248s I'd rather have like stars or or or a
2251s tech that'll help me get more economy
2254s faster but I think that actually makes
2256s his giant here a lot more plausible
2258s because without that it was going to be
2260s really hard for vorce to get his first
2261s giant up yeah that's fair but like the
2263s annoying power to that he already
2265s leveled up his Capital once and now he's
2267s not regaining anything for a while yeah
2270s there's a lot of hanging population what
2272s what did you think about him retreating
2273s with five Health waro here because this
2276s kind of bothered me to be honest
2280s uh where did this where did this Retreat
2282s from um I mean what was the other option
2286s let me see I would probably just heal
2288s because if you move back you're not
2289s getting any value anyways oh yeah yeah
2292s and it's not like it's not like vorce
2294s would have been able to attack the 7 HP
2297s Warrior either yeah I can definitely
2299s with pressure onto VOR I mean he could
2302s even have gone for a Siege here by
2304s moving this Warrior forward um chipping
2308s with a rider and then like you know
2310s sacrificing his 5 HP Warrior and then
2312s getting a Siege uh then take his his
2315s last Warrior and tap this one it would
2317s actually force force to un Siege by
2320s using Archer first and then unsing with
2323s a 5hp warrior which he could very easily
2325s reeg with a Ryder and you could bounce
2327s the ryer deep into the territory well
2330s not that deep but I think deep enough
2332s that would have some problems in the
2334s following turn to un Siege yeah like he
2337s he definitely could have been more
2339s aggressive here and I I definitely agree
2341s that he should have been uh instead he
2343s just goes for kind of like the free easy
2345s kill um I feel like he just maybe you go
2348s for the free kill out of instinct uh
2350s rather than kind of like taking time in
2352s the early game to calculate a position
2354s uh he's probably just trying to use ryer
2356s roads in like a a more standard almost a
2358s defensive fashion where you just use it
2360s to deny uh your opponent from and and
2363s Chip try to just get units for free near
2365s the front line
2367s but yeah there was there was nothing
2368s else in range that would have that would
2370s have made Force very
2372s uncomfortable yeah like that's what uh I
2375s think is a crucial power you have to
2377s understand about like using Riders early
2379s as well is that you have to spot the
2382s opportunities where you can get like a
2384s big lead mhm because otherwise you're
2387s investing into like a military unit but
2389s if you never really punish your opponent
2391s uh for like the more greedy decisions
2393s right like Riders get more immediate
2396s value here because with cities are
2398s spread a little so the archers from
2401s forest take longer to reach the fight
2405s but now was already got like his archers
2408s in position he was able to retake a
2411s forest now he's like forcing yua to kill
2414s his warriors on Forest and now he can
2416s just kill back with a warrior on the
2418s forest so those are like all like micro
2421s interactions going towards his favor how
2424s how do you feel about this Mass chop
2425s that we've got going on over here
2428s you you takes math in this in this
2432s position
2435s um It's tricky because like um he knows
2439s that he's probably getting lag right he
2441s has only three cities on his side so he
2443s probably wants a fast shine but what I
2447s disagree with is that um as you're going
2449s to see he won't use his Park of
2452s Fortune um to level up his other cities
2455s to make more units like if you go for
2457s this
2458s yeah you have to full commit in my
2462s opinion yeah Meister does not like it
2464s when you do not use your uh your
2466s monuments guys um I I was I would
2469s actually probably me in in in this
2471s position I think I would have delayed uh
2475s I would have Burn yeah like cuz because
2478s chopping this city like this you can
2480s like basically never upgrade it um and
2482s that means it's just adding so much to
2484s your Tech cost uh and not really Prov in
2488s enough uh value out of it like taking
2491s forestry I think was probably the right
2493s decision here um but rather than upgrade
2496s the the capital with those Nine Stars
2499s Nine Stars
2501s uh I mean you could even I I don't know
2504s if is good no but I would definitely
2507s have workshopped this and and maybe just
2508s made one Rider and just saved a little
2511s or saved up for next
2513s turn like not having a workshop is is
2516s for for so long long not having a
2518s workshop is that's that's too much for
2520s me I can't yeah you could probably just
2523s get the workshop and then the following
2525s turn you get the capital shine and then
2527s you use the park of Fortune for a level
2529s three upgrade and then you still got
2530s stars for New Riders yeah I I like that
2533s a lot more than this uh basically giant

2543s support units for it
2545s basically yeah and and Force also gets
2548s that that Free Rider kill and gets all
2550s of this Vision I guess there's there's
2553s not much to see right because the Giants
2554s already here but um and then vorce goes
2558s for ANL that I definitely would not
2560s have yeah he needed the lighthouse to
2562s get the capital giant here but because
2566s there was a mountain he couldn't reach

2572s it so now youu is kind of stalled he he
2575s heals his giant he's he's making some
2577s units in the front but he doesn't have
2579s any way of advancing uh right now I mean
2582s he could have pushed his giant forward
2583s anyway I guess um and tried to make
2586s Riders behind it to to clean up the uh
2589s The Archers although vorce ends up
2591s pulling back
2592s anyway and also going
2595s riding finally
2598s Rose like I really hate right he's still
2601s has not used his Park of Forge yeah he
2604s could he could have level three he could
2606s have level three a boed one more Road
2608s and then and then gone for a Siege here
2611s like we've been fighting we've been
2612s fighting over this base since like turn
2614s four not once as it has it actually
2616s gotten sieged which is crazy to
2619s me yeah and like the extra Stars you
2622s just get from level three upgrades right
2623s like level three upgrades are like one
2625s of the best upgrades in the game because
2627s they're like pretty cheap and you also
2630s immediately get five star spe so you can
2632s use them so you can reuse them
2635s immediately to get like even more value
2638s okay so he was like saving the PK of
2640s Fortune to make a giant the whole
2643s time but I'm not sure if that was the
2646s right decision I'd probably prefer him
2649s just getting more units on the board to
2651s push
2658s faster it's such a small area he finally
2662s gets the uh the capture though on this
2664s base and that actually do you think that
2666s youve is favored in this position
2669s now yeah I like you's position a lot
2672s more and they both aren't on the leg and
2676s like as you can see like Wars has three
2679s cities not very good tools to get more
2681s cities they both have like one unit
2683s walking around the lake that is
2685s eventually going to capture some cities
2688s for each of them do you like this do you
2690s like this giant push that vorc it right
2692s here oh yeah disappointing like I Pro
2696s I'm not sure I probably would have Mo my
2697s Archer Northwest to make sure that I get
2700s pushed into a good direction yeah it
2703s does look like it was going to push

2708s pushed Northwest instead if North is

2749s didn't know I did not notice that um
2752s yeah that uh that that would not be my
2755s favorite like end for this

2762s for uh macroing his bases are pretty
2766s limited here like math I guess could
2769s have gotten him uh well no the space is
2772s already connected I don't know fishing I
2774s think I think in this situation I
2776s actually probably would have gone
2777s fishing but in the same way that him
2780s hanging on to a monument for like eight
2782s turns kills you it kills me that he has
2785s not upgraded um this this city since
2790s like turn six or something when he
2792s captured it it's been providing one star
2794s of income and it could have been
2795s providing three stars of income for like
2798s I think he got turn five this like this
2801s this city has been has been killing me
2805s like so yeah I probably would have gone
2807s for fishing I think getting water access
2809s would have been nice like vorce wouldn't
2811s have seen it coming although I I imagine
2814s vores probably has it on the in the back
2816s of his mind that it's a possibility CU
2818s it always
2821s is and like from vor's perspective since
2824s he doesn't see this he probably imagines
2827s um that youve has a very healthy
2835s economy goes for an un Siege he's using
2838s his Riders pretty well here um I mean
2840s could have made more roads to snipe this
2842s unit but it's not really
2845s necessary and I think that would have
2847s got gotten him he he got his killer
2849s Monument this turn didn't
2851s he yes but he's he's hanging on to it
2854s because you know he knows meister's
2857s gonna love

2864s chivalry
2866s um does his opponent have Vision on on
2869s the on the
2871s Knight 32 Stars here yeah he could have
2873s gone for basically anything going for
2875s chivalry is kind of like like uh he's
2879s definitely hoping to to pull something
2881s out his
2883s opponent oh my gosh and C ruin has
2886s complete view of it um so he can see
2889s that it's there and he should definitely
2891s know that it's coming but he does have
2892s to uneg this giant yeah so can he do
2896s that without endangering himself too
2899s much I would say here I think what you
2903s do is you attack with both Giants first
2905s or maybe Archer first attack with some
2908s Giants um kill with an with a rider and
2911s Retreat that way you don't really have
2915s as many things so forward so you would
2918s you wouldn't un Siege with a with a
2920s giant no I I don't think I would un
2922s Siege with a giant here because then his
2924s giant is going to get a hit on something
2926s valuable probably be able to Siege if if
2929s you un Siege with your with your Giants
2931s first and kill with either with a rider
2934s uh then you can leave this base empty um
2937s and that kind of makes it a little more
2939s Awkward because like as vorce would you
2941s advance a giant into uh onto a city that
2944s where there's two other Giants and a
2945s bunch of support units standing there
2947s like it would be it would be really
2949s difficult to take this
2951s position so that's definitely the right
2953s idea you does that same thing um pushes
2957s his rider forward I don't know I
2959s probably would have retreated it and
2961s maybe not bunched up my units so much
2963s yeah but why does he leave all these
2965s units like you know bunched up let he
2968s say he sees the I think he feels like
2971s his 33 giant isn't breakable yeah it's
2975s safe uh do we have enough here I mean
2979s you have to finish with a knight there's
2980s like two and a half archers and two
2983s Riders I'm not sure he could push
2985s through the uh the giant just yet
2988s instead yeah he just chips it
2992s mhm yeah now though no it's two nights
2994s yeah he goes for an inexpensive Siege
2996s with a ryer cuz again you can't really
2998s Siege with a giant because because
3000s you've left his Giants in the
3003s back it allows you of a very clean un
3006s Siege I don't know about pushing this
3008s Rider forward as opposed to retreating
3010s it but that's what he goes with he chips
3012s down this giant a little bit maybe he's
3015s thinking about like how he can try to
3017s avoid a chain with the bounce of the
3020s rider but like he doesn't move his other
3023s units in a very fortunate way to avoid a
3026s CH
3030s like this was this was this was already
3032s a pretty big line uh moving this Warrior
3034s here makes it a bigger line into a
3037s possible Capital Siege yeah if you want
3039s like some tips how you approach these
3041s situations where you know you can get
3043s chained by night and you're playing in a
3045s life game and you don't have too much
3047s time to figure everything out I would
3050s always try to group like the units in
3053s just groups of two if possible mhm
3057s and I think he even had the opportunity
3059s here but there were like one to two unit
3062s moves that were off that completely
3064s killed him yeah uh veteran Rider or
3068s veteran uh Knight
3070s Siege uh we've got not enough stuff and
3073s I don't think there was actually a
3074s possible un siege for
3076s him nope yeah this looks unbreakable no
3080s Monument left and like also no other way
3082s to get the extra population and only two
3085s units in range of a night
3087s M yeah he's he's far from his other I
3091s mean he could he could capture and and
3096s but he I don't know capture and and try
3098s for an explorer to see if he can get
3100s both lighthouses but I don't think
3101s that's I don't think there's I think
3102s there's too many Tes a long shot yeah
3105s that's that's a really long that's
3106s that's far yeah I I don't think you can
3108s cover I don't think 15 tires are enough
3111s to cover half
3114s B so what do you think about this game
3116s was was this uh last kind of uh being
3120s not uh cautious with those giants
3124s the oh definely the reason to to to lose
3128s for I mean I I think it was it was just
3130s a matter of the way that he set up his
3132s units like there were definitely there
3135s were definitely safer ways to do what he
3138s did um like you know move this Archer to
3142s over
3143s here uh you know bring this one down
3145s move this one up um that would have all
3148s three archers spread out two tiles away
3150s from each other so you wouldn't be able
3152s to like chame them together and if he
3156s you know if he can take out this unit
3158s and just build one road underneath this
3160s giant then all of his Riders could
3161s Retreat to like a far enough tile where
3165s they wouldn't be able to be chained
3166s through any of the Arches so he could
3168s absolutely have spread his units out
3170s especially if you since he can see both
3172s Knights here and everything else like
3174s it's it's very obvious to me um
3177s that you know um that vce would be able
3180s to Brute Force Through uh an already
3183s injured giant especially when it's next
3184s to another one yep but um yeah it just
3188s it just wasn't really unseed as well as
3191s it could have
3194s like even moving this Archer you know
3198s like one TI away would yeah one one road
3202s over here pull pull the rider back pull
3205s pull it all the way back to here yeah
3208s um and just shift your Riders your your
3211s archers over just to to spread them out
3213s a little it's definitely it's very
3215s difficult to try to calculate exactly
3218s whether something can be like you know
3221s um killed or not and like popping this
3223s giant here I guess made him feel like
3225s maybe it was a little safer because he's
3226s got three Giants to Brute Force through
3229s but they really only needed to sneak
3231s around and gets a and gets a one
3233s especially after this hit hit hitting
3235s this dropping it to 23 oh man
3239s yeah like I would even say before this
3241s turn I probably preferred youis position
3244s over VES yeah like right right up until
3248s this last turn I think you was
3250s definitely favored because he had three
3251s Giants here right in vce's face and it
3254s was next to his capital and to win a
3255s game of polytopia you don't have to take
3258s all of your opponent cities or kill any
3260s of their units the only thing you have
3261s to do is capture the opponent Capital
3264s that's the only thing um so yeah Force
3268s just positioned itself and and you
3270s didn't have a way to un Siege um so you
3274s could have had 10 Giants left over here
3276s and he would still instant lose this
3277s game as soon as capital gets taken and
3280s uh yeah that's that was the point where
3282s he resigned the game that was a GG y
3284s That's the game okay let's move on to
3287s the to the next one we have still two to
3293s go all right let me open up this next

3302s yeah so let's uh look at the opponent
3305s and the players all right so oh that's
3309s the exciting one ah yes so spawning here
3312s in the South we've got ax and spawning
3317s in the west we've got
3319s haruchi and one question we want to call
3323s him a or
3324s Brainiac oh I mean I I always go by
3327s their ingame names because but we could
3330s totally go with Brainiac if that's what
3331s you want to go with I'm down I didn't I
3334s don't know I don't know the guy if you
3336s do we can go with his preferred
3339s name I mean he uses both names so we can
3342s just stick to a what do you think about
3345s this uh opening for black Bor I mean I
3348s really yo five animals amazing um very
3352s easy fast level three upgrade uh
3355s economically he should always end up
3357s being a bit ahead um H yeah like but um
3360s if you didn't notice he actually went
3362s for a turn zero Warrior opening in favor
3364s of a turn zero workship here oh yeah
3367s that was um I mean I have been known to
3371s be a proponent of tzo warrior even in
3375s t0o tribes and everyone hates me for it
3378s but like I swear like it has its merits
3381s mainly in that you know sometimes you
3384s getting to the city one turn sooner
3386s means you get a city that you otherwise
3387s wouldn't get so there's definitely times
3389s especially on like small Maps where I
3391s feel like yeah it it could make sense I
3394s don't usually do it on dry but on yeah
3396s but this is normal so it's it's a big
3398s map no it's a small map this is small
3400s this is this is a small he's playing
3403s host he's playing host against the turn
3406s zero tribe so your first Warrior can't
3408s even get contested on a city unless your
3411s opponent for some reason also goes for a
3413s double Warrior
3415s opening yeah I mean I I I'm usually off
3417s for going for it just but then when he
3420s sends the Warrior 2 backwards kind of
3424s like sending them both in the same
3425s direction I no longer approve of this
3426s move like if if you're going to make a a
3429s t0o warrior as a tzo tribe you
3431s definitely want to spread them out
3432s because the whole goal of it is to get
3434s to a city one turn faster than your
3436s opponent like if there was a city here
3439s and you know you land on it first and
3442s it's against another t0 you win that
3443s City uh for the most part um sending
3447s this one kind of like backwards I guess
3449s he doesn't know for sure where his
3451s opponent's spawning it could be here um
3453s just kind of unfortunate since they're
3455s both heading in kind of the same way I
3456s feel like that neutralized a lot of what
3459s you would gain and especially because
3462s you end up falling on turn two since you
3465s delayed the workshop you also end up
3467s delaying that level three upgrade so um
3471s yeah this maybe wasn't I I love I love a
3473s good tzer warrior because I'm rebellious
3475s but um I don't I don't know that it was
3477s I don't know that was the right play in
3479s this scenario yeah even I'll give you
3481s that Pro then I'm not sure if it can be
3486s the correct play in the
3488s scenario and also a ro of D in poop is
3491s that you have to expand you know as
3493s quickly as possible so moving your
3496s second Warrior back is a kind
3498s of uh the most fortunate Explorer here
3502s he didn't get meat off of it I
3505s believe yeah I think I think he
3510s is oops that is the wrong
3513s guy yeah he does an okay I mean he he's
3517s definitely rolling the dice here like it
3518s could have gone North First and just
3520s revealed his own Corner which is very
3523s obviously I think he doesn't even take
3524s Explorer here it was
3527s um took the
3531s Explorer oh yeah yeah yeah sorry yeah
3533s yeah he missed this this was the
3535s Explorer and yeah he did miss the
3537s oh this was this was Reckless also it
3539s could also have gone backwards into his
3540s own
3541s Corner yeah it was pretty risky
3547s one was it this turn wait how do I how
3550s do I keep
3551s missing yeah could go anywhere really
3554s yeah that it could have gone any place
3556s and like what I also kind of hated was
3558s that he didn't take any Tech before
3562s catch yeah I mean I guess he was
3564s anticipating getting the meeting I think
3566s think his opponent was just over a
3568s thousand stars at the time was just over
3570s a th score so maybe he was anticipating
3572s for sure getting the meeting and had
3574s just quickly calculated that he'd be
3576s able to get like the upgrades that he
3577s wanted anyway but wanted to get the
3579s Explorer faster which I can I can
3581s understand I can get behind that I think
3582s that's okay that that part that part I
3584s don't hate that
3586s part especially for a live game to to
3589s make that value analysis that fast I
3591s think that's I think that's fine but
3594s yeah he gets this forward City there's a
3596s lot of fruit here he definitely needs
3597s organization soon harai also goes for
3600s organization here so that he can level
3601s three his base I approve of that matics
3605s you were talking about it earlier yeah I
3606s love
3612s math yeah but like I have to say like
3615s all these upgrades of Forestry kind of
3617s do hurt like you could plan to go for
3620s mths but you probably need organization
3623s as a sign here anyways so you should
3626s probably just get organization first
3628s because a the tech is cheaper and B the
3632s upgrades are cheaper as well because
3634s harvesting fruits only costs two
3636s compared to building a lumber Hut for
3638s free yeah and I think he already had
3640s view of this base uh which only has
3642s fruit uh visibly so yeah I definitely
3645s agree that he probably should have gone
3646s for organization um because yeah he has
3649s he has a lot of fruit on the cities that
3651s are not going to be contested um he's
3653s got what three cities where fruit can do
3656s a much better job upgrading so yeah I
3658s would I would say not getting or also
3660s also this really bothered me that he
3662s just takes this Warrior and slams it
3663s into this one like yo you could have
3665s moved North one tile revealed both of
3667s these fog
3668s tiles um and then you know then went for
3671s the kill yo he's like missing a fog man
3674s there's even more micro off in this
3676s turnbo right because um you always want
3679s to do re actions that real fog first
3682s yeah now what he does in the end is
3684s moving the warrior vest and now on the
3687s village and if you go back he had a
3690s second warrior in range but he used it
3692s to kill the other Warrior instead yeah
3695s so realistically yeah this Warrior
3697s should have gone North First to reveal
3698s these three and this Warrior should have
3700s gone here to remove these three and then
3702s he could have yeah made the decision uh
3704s instead going just attacking the thing
3707s that's right in front of you uh instead
3709s of exploring first uh definitely came
3711s back to bite him this time this time
3714s around uh aniac where is your brain
3721s at yeah also like unlike the other games
3724s we've seen so far we are seeing no
3726s military check early on which is not
3729s very common that's true um I'm also like
3734s since we're getting a double capture
3736s here uh why didn't we get a tech can we
3739s not so I don't oh yeah forestry math I
3742s guess he's good on that um
3750s but in his position I'm like really
3751s worried about the capital right like if
3755s um grain y really like just goes for
3757s anything like riding yeah whatever like
3760s he doesn't have Vision on what he and
3762s what bra is doing yeah if if there had
3765s been like a rider somewhere here and he
3767s could have afforded roads or just
3768s bouncing in yeah he might have been able
3770s to go for a capital
3773s snipe he's definitely playing very very

4451s way like just having Knights either
4454s forces your opponents to make a mistake
4456s where he loses like all the units or it
4459s forces your opponent to use the units

4464s efficiently yeah feels like we've got
4466s two fronts that are really hard to

4474s map is carved up and the layout of the
4476s mountains and the other terrain yeah
4478s it's it's very difficult for anyone to

4481s like they're both kind of bleeding

4561s mountains so one giant here zones these

4567s actually very few way like if you place
4570s a giant here where it is one here you're
4574s already you already have kind of an
4575s impenetrable fortress on on harai side

4580s um Knight with archer support able to to
4584s chain through a lot ofit units and also
4587s value right even though he was trying to
4589s avoid the chain and plac all his units
4591s really inefficiently he still got that
4593s much value out of a single KN yeah brinc
4596s got tremendous value out of that one and
4598s uh understandably makes an additional
4600s one I think maybe he's hoping that his
4602s opponent doesn't see this one but
4605s like we we know we saw the bounce so we
4608s know that he can yeah I feel like uh
4611s harai could also maybe have defogged
4613s this by now he's had a lot of units uh
4615s sitting around the back near the front
4618s waiting to make an attack but he could
4619s have been kind of somewhat passively uh
4622s defogging the rest of his side of the
4624s map and
4627s go right now like he can do a lot
4631s mhm and also because he didn't get
4634s climbing he could actually kill multiple
4635s units there yeah I like the way not
4638s having climbing benefited him although

4823s Giants here instead of committing to try

4833s should have just pulled back

4839s Knights to his army would make this
4840s these push is a lot more

4848s this long journey and there's too many

4896s swordsman are actually a really good

4907s knights with units I don't think that
4909s Swordsmen actually are that good against
4912s Knights yeah I I wouldn't call them any

4916s mhm yeah the Catapult could have not
4918s done what it
4921s did to put it very
4931s mildly another giant this giant Siege
4934s here looks actually kind of dangerous
4936s but I think uh brainia can still un
4938s Siege just fine

4942s Siege is that it forced this catapult to
4944s stay here so so this is one less City uh
4946s that brainiac's able to produce a unit
4948s out of and sometimes when you're in
4950s these these late game scenarios where
4952s everyone has so many units uh he's he
4954s makes a giant here I think mostly to
4956s push off the Catapult so that he can
4958s produce again because not being able to
4961s produce out of your cities because
4963s there's a like a catapult on it or
4965s something can is is
4968s difficult well like let's see when har
4971s like finally decides to do something
4974s else just training six Swordsmen every
4977s turn I mean the six swordsman turn seems
4980s to be working there's a lot of stuff uh
4982s advancing right now and uh Brainiac

6020s definitely agree that Arthur needs a
6021s little bit better than an even trade

6028s cities he's got a little bit more
6030s economy and he's going to get another
6032s the Juggernaut also is getting good
6034s value there with the splash damage
6042s yeah and now arto kind of lacks
6045s reinforcements because he was population
6047s kept for a while in like most of his
6050s cities mhm and now I mean if he was
6053s getting to popca um then sacrifice
6056s forcing the kill of these units like
6057s forcibly trading out units might have
6060s actually been beneficial
6062s like um because you know if he's not
6064s able to make uh replacement units then
6067s there's not really a point although I
6069s feel like yeah some of his cities could
6070s maybe have been made taller instead with
6073s some of the cost
6074s savings I don't know he's getting a lot
6076s of these sieges though and uh he does
6078s seem to be bleeding
6079s vses uh Army dry
6085s yeah right now only Nine Stars of income
6087s this turn because of all the sieges mhm
6090s yeah it's amazing even with those Nine
6092s Stars though he's able to pop that
6094s giant this City's still one star in the
6097s red but do you see how many on the
6103s city uh we got uh yeah all of them all
6107s all three of or's monuments have gone
6108s towards this

6115s pull back because he's kind of run his
6117s attack has run out of
6121s steam and he's like forced to upgrade V
6124s grafts into ramas which isn't really
6126s what he wanted to do right like s HP

6133s yeah I mean having ramming Tech at all
6136s is kind of uh yeah main the main thing
6139s that Arthur has going for him right
6141s now border growth picking up lot of fish
6144s so he'll be able to pop another giant
6154s there yeah but again like Wars
6156s constantly gets like these traits where
6158s he uses archers against Scouts and like
6161s that's just so much better for the
6162s archers because they cost less than
6166s half yeah yeah force is just getting too
6169s much efficiency so at this point uh
6172s Arthur resigns the game I I think he
6174s doesn't really have an available way to
6176s un Siege this base when the giant sieges
6179s it next turn
6182s mhm but I would say that this
6186s was close to this was this was close and
6189s this was a pretty well this was a pretty
6191s well executed game from uh from Arthur
6194s and vor's sides like they did a lot of
6197s there's you know it's hard to get like
6198s perfect micro on things like whether
6199s you're able to Siege this capital or not
6202s but overall like vorce was really good
6203s about extracting value out of his units
6206s um like he had a slightly Superior
6208s economy um but just the cost efficiency
6211s that he got with his archers and also
6213s just with I feel like his M his specific
6215s mix of um Scouts and juggernauts were
6219s able to just get more efficient damage
6222s um but also just
6223s getting vce made what four giants this
6227s game um I think Arthur was only able to
6230s make two and and Arthur were kind of
6232s Trapped around here where they were
6233s forced to go here they weren't actually
6235s able to contest the water heavy area
6237s where juggernauts are a little bit
6239s stronger like Giants are good all around
6242s but on an archipelago map uh if they're
6244s in like the Open Water then they'll be
6246s able to Splash more things control the
6249s movement of units more um it's better to
6252s have them in the Open Seas than in like
6254s this like small Corridor where they're
6257s kind of funneled into an area that's
6259s full of archers and admittedly a capital
6261s and if Arthur was able to get the
6263s capital
6264s um then that would have been GG but um
6266s yeah as it is he just he his Giants
6268s weren't in the right places it was a
6270s little harder for Arthur to macro his
6272s bases and yeah Force takes the victory
6275s is there anything that Arthur could have
6277s done
6278s differently
6281s yeah
6282s what what he could have spawned better
6285s better right like
6287s yeah by Wars one here also was six
6291s cities and like six cities is a very
6294s crucial number because it unlocks a
6296s monument the grand Bazar which usually
6300s helps you to pop like an additional
6302s giant but also you know it's it's about
6304s skill issue not having these about the
6308s setup uh so this fifth City uh that
6312s Arthur Arthur has this is far away from
6315s the his Mainland so it's it's not just
6318s about the the number of cities but also
6321s how they are placed and uh yeah so I
6325s would say it it was a it was a it was a
6327s bit of a realistically I say Arthur
6331s could
6332s have used his his like Navy a little bit
6335s better like this is a a defensible like
6340s little Bay here from either side like
6341s units here on land or units here on land
6344s would prevent them so both of their
6345s capitals are kind of protected from like
6347s the main body of water um and if you
6350s look at it it's not like any of Arthur's
6353s cities don't have access to this main
6356s area so I feel like if he maybe cut down
6357s on the units that he had and used around
6360s his capital or tried to like set up
6363s something to like more efficiently
6364s defend this area then he could have
6367s funneled 100% of his like pop of his
6370s remaining population into the main area
6372s main body of water and maybe he could
6374s have gotten something done that way
6376s because like this city gulan is actually
6379s V's only really like attackable City uh
6384s I feel like the other two just can't
6385s really be assaulted just because of the
6388s way the terrain is set up um and because
6391s like force already has archers like
6393s there's too many changes of like water
6395s to land in in these
6397s lines so it would be really really hard
6399s to attack into orcar or into um V's
6403s Capital whereas this city you know since
6406s you have water leading all the way up to
6408s here you have basically water on three
6410s sides um if you can get Naval control
6413s of the of like the main body of water
6417s you'd actually be able to attack into
6418s the City and maybe capture it like this
6420s was the this was the attack Point uh and
6422s I feel like maybe Arthur could have
6423s focused more resources on that but he
6426s would have had to find a cheaper way of
6427s Defending his his Capital so I I think
6431s what Archer did probably would have
6433s worked against the vaker
6435s opponent and it's probably like one of
6437s the better strategies you can go for
6439s here but I think there would be one
6442s other option you have which is like arto
6445s got quite a lot of control towards vers
6449s capital and maybe it would be possible
6452s to go for cloaks in AR's position to
6456s cloak wars's Capital maybe that's a bit
6459s of a far stretch but I feel like that's
6461s like one alternative talking about like
6463s around
6465s here he had his he has like giants
6467s pushing in m and then you could maybe go
6470s cloak behind
6473s yeah because he he already had so like
6476s yeah he did not have the wrong tree oh
6479s yeah oh that would help that would
6481s help okay yeah so you already had
6483s Defenders yeah so
6486s cloaking yep that might have worked I
6490s mean one cloak would have costed an
6492s entire um turns
6496s economy uh I think like I mean when he
6498s was in this position he had Naval
6500s superiority um by a lot so I think it
6503s would have been difficult to like
6505s abandon the only apparent advantage that
6507s he has which is like you know gaining
6509s like he's got like six ships in the
6511s water here uh Voris has a scout and a
6513s raft that's not even in territory um
6516s everything else is going to take a long
6517s time to get in I feel like yeah this was
6521s probably the he had he didn't even have
6523s this island yet like he was kind of
6524s forced into Navy for a bit so if he was
6527s going to get diplomacy it would have
6529s delayed that like maybe if he if he knew
6532s he wasn't going to be able to win the
6533s naval battle ahead of time um then maybe
6537s it would have made sense to try for more
6539s of an all-in approach like like going
6541s for diplomacy uh and and trying to get a
6543s cloak for the capital but I feel like
6546s from this position it it looked like it
6548s could have been favorable for him to
6550s just stick with trying to get Naval
6552s superiority I mean he was able to
6554s capture this one city which I think was
6556s like the bare minimum to keep him in the
6557s game at
