108s so uh before we jump into the games uh
112s maybe let's talk about
115s the the heroes of our uh stream uh the
120s Al tribe uh so what what are your
123s personal opinions on that
128s tribe uh it's pretty fun it used to be
132s my favorite uh tribe for actually the
135s maybe first question do you have them
137s because not everyone yeah needs to have
139s them yeah I of course got them well I
142s got all tribes okay so we got that clear
144s sorry ver yes go ahead uh it used to be
148s my favorite tribe for really long time
152s but sadly they are not as good as I
155s would want them to be MH why is
159s that well because for One V ones uh they
164s are too too slow in development compared
168s to other Tripes like zasi
172s MH uh and there starting Tech isn't as
177s good as one might uh expect with clothes
180s because they are really expensive and
184s they are not that hard to counter
188s mhm okay MH and you
192s lumper yeah so um quali strength
196s obviously um are more water-based Maps
199s because their strategy a great Tech and
202s of course if you're like playing ffas or
206s Team games they are great as well
207s because uh strategy leads right into
210s diplomacy and in games where you can
213s build embassies they are very powerful
216s mhm like now thinking about Kali
220s mirrors um what I like about Kali is
223s that there are like a lot of different
225s viable strategies and it also depends a
229s lot on the map you're
231s playing um they obviously got great um
235s resource rates well mainly tier one
237s resources like every single tile has to
240s have at least something mhm so they get
243s tons of fruits usually good amount of
246s forests and animals and then also a lot
250s of Mines but basically no
253s Farms so yeah like economically you
257s could for example go into mathematics
260s you could also just sit on like
261s organization and hunting or you could go
264s into Mining
266s smiy and like militarily we also like
270s like lot of different options you could
272s go into rder roads you could go into
274s archers you could go into cloaks could
277s even go into markets and then like just
280s Spam expensive units so there are like a
283s lot of different ways to play
285s them uh would you say that they are
287s difficult to play uh who would you
289s recommend them to is a good tribe to
292s actually you know start your adventure
295s with
297s polyopia um I don't think they are that
301s easy um to start playing because
305s obviously you got you have a lot of
307s different choices you can
309s make
311s um and like the way they work in the
315s early game for example the interaction
317s with a starting Defender um really is
321s different than a lot of other tribes
324s behave because yeah because it's like
326s Defenders at the beginning are kind of
328s use useless Tech right
330s like your starting Defender if you move
333s onto Village of that guy your opponent
335s has basically no way to knock you off of
337s that Village but if your opponent is to
340s Village first while other tribes could
344s kill a warrior with two Warriors Cali
346s can only have a Defender and a warrior
348s so that's not a possibility
351s mhm okay what about you
354s Wars uh can you repeat the question uh
359s are they difficult to play in your
360s opinion would you recommend who would
362s you recommend them to
365s uh from the normal tribes yeah I would
368s say it's one of the more difficult ones
372s MH I think it's pretty fun especially if
375s you like uh some more
379s complex positions using Defenders uh
383s defense from forests or
386s mountains but overall I don't think they
389s are the most the most difficult
394s mhm because you have special Tri what's
398s the difficulty about in in your opinion
402s uh why why do you say they are difficult
405s or maybe quite to play starting starting
408s with
409s Defenders is a completely different game
413s than starting with some economic Tech
416s mhm so it it's a completely different
420s phas of devel
423s development okay yeah that's that's uh
427s that's
428s true Okie do uh so before we uh start uh
433s watching the and analyzing the games a
436s few organizational notes uh so first
439s we'll review the the games the Kali
442s polium and that we pick to to show you
447s and once we finish it will be like four
450s games I guess um there will be an
453s opportunity to ask questions I mean like
456s a longer questions so for example if you
458s have some uh some game that you
461s struggled uh with uh or I don't know
464s something in the game did not work as
467s you um as you
469s expected uh simply post the the question
473s and the um and the link to to the game
476s in the in the chat and then at the end
480s our guests will uh will like show the
485s show your your your game and and give
488s you some some tips what you could have
490s done uh differently or why this did not
494s work or yeah something some some other
498s answers that that you might seek okay so

504s and see what happened uh this month in
506s the
507s polium so I will add M lamp um

518s who's playing here okay so in this first
522s game we got um
525s Reds in the dark green playing against
530s um The Liberator
533s or PCU how his in-game name is
537s called um yeah so I just refer to him as
541s L Liberator mhm and the map for this one
545s is
547s Dryland um it's mirror match like all
550s polium games and this month he had
553s katali so we got a katali
558s mirror and
570s Mr Lamp are you there we are losing we
573s can't we can't hear you we can't hear
577s you you can't hear me oh we can now now
580s you're back but but we couldn't hear you
582s for couple seconds s repeat what I said
585s yeah
586s and so we got Reds and dark green
590s against the Liberator or PCU and
594s orange and the map is
598s Dryland um it's mirror match up like all
601s polium games and um in this month we had
605s crali so we have a Cali m match
615s up okay should I start off the game yep
620s let's
621s start well maybe we can take a look at
624s the spawns
625s first um well a lot of FRS yeah they
629s look very s similarly rats got one fruit
632s more but an exchange and lior got an
637s animal
639s mhm okay so we're seeing standard Kali
642s openings with t z Warrior for
645s both mhm could you explain uh a bit why
649s why this uh this kind of uh movement why
652s why did they go in those Direction
655s because it matters in the in the games
658s right
660s um yeah so ideally you want to go into a
664s direction where you reveal like a lot of
666s times uh where you reveal a lot of tiles
669s and you also reveal um or and you also
673s follow like resource indicators mhm
676s which
677s are so in this case what what are the
681s indicators okay let's go back to the
684s beginning
686s so like the resource indicators are
689s those where you see resources present so
692s like for regular tiles it would be um
696s fruits and farms for Forest would be
700s animals and for mountains it would be
702s mines and basically you want to avoid
705s going into directions where V are not
708s present and like for every tribe it
710s depends how likely it is for the
713s resource to be present mhm um okay why
717s does this matter um
720s like next to a village um resources are
725s way more likely to spawn and if there is
728s no Village next to that tile and like in
731s the beginning of the game you obviously
732s want to find more Villages so that is
735s why you follow the direction of where
738s the resources
740s are and and now another Tip since you're
743s playing on drylands um there cannot be
747s any Villages um
750s to right next to the map Edge and the
754s second layer as well like I I'll turn
756s off replay F really quick so as you can
760s see um on this line there is no Village
763s to be seen like at the edge of the map
767s there cannot be any
768s Village that only applies to drylands so
771s that is something to keep in mind as
773s well when exploring a
778s Dryland okay let's
781s go okay yeah so you got um standard
785s openings for both following resource
791s indicators and they both find the city
793s with their Defender RS doesn't find one
796s immediately with his
803s Warrior um I believe the Liberator takes
806s an Explorer here MH Okay so what we saw
810s was um Reds went for a
813s workshop and now the Liberator goes for
816s an Explorer but there's another reason
818s why the Liberator goes for an Explorer
820s and reds doesn't because the amount of
823s meeting Stars you get from your opponent
825s depends on your opponent's
827s score and in this case um because the
831s Liberator is playing second and rats
834s already captured the city rats is going
837s to be above 1K score which means
840s Liberator would get five stars instead
842s of three for meeting him and if you take
846s a look at how many stars he has if he
849s manages to meet rats with the Explorer
851s this turn then he will have enough stars
854s to go for a work shop in his Capital as
860s well and the Explorer even ends up
863s finding red so that's great but barely
865s misses the
867s lighthouse very unfortunate
873s yeah yeah red um red saw that a
877s liberator captured there but um he's
880s just going to go for an additional
882s Workshop here because an Explorer here
885s would be quite risky it could just go
888s back to the lighthouse something like
890s that so often it's better to just take a
894s safe Workshop when explore it might go
896s wrong Al it's not not really needed he
899s has Defender so if he's going to find
902s something he can easily defend
908s it yeah Liberator going for two level
911s three upgrades here and then decides to
915s make two
917s Warriors now I wonder if it's the
921s correct play to go for two Warriors here
923s instead of leveling up that extra City
926s yeah I would say it's quite OD
929s why is that I I guess I guess he can
931s just Spam Warriors and take the The
935s Village he sees from from
938s rats yeah but rats can just make a
940s Defender no so well he
944s can with his economy it shouldn't be
947s difficult to get archers when uh
950s Warriors come near uh his
955s City and you mean for rats or for lul
960s uh for
963s orange yeah but like the way I see it is
967s um like right here let's go back so he
970s will have uh five stars and Nine Stars
973s per turn could just invest into Workshop
977s now and then he gets an additional two
979s stars per turn every turn and then he
982s gets two archers even
984s faster I mean yeah I I I completely
987s agree just think what his vision might
989s what his plan might have
991s been okay well he decides to go for two
996s Warriors rats finds another city with
999s his Defender which is
1001s great um let's see what happens
1005s here okay he takes an
1007s Explorer now with Red's play here um I'd
1012s have to comment something as well like
1014s in this case it didn't matter but um
1020s like he has a plan to take an explor in
1022s what city he's
1023s capturing so I think it would make more
1026s sense to do that Explorer first before
1028s we capture level three upgrade because
1032s it's like basically impossible that we
1035s explore Miss's opponent and the
1038s lighthouse and in case he ends up
1040s getting a
1041s lighthouse um he could save two stars um
1046s by needing one less fruit to upgrade his
1048s capital which often makes a
1051s difference
1055s M but yeah he does the upgrades in which
1058s order and I think it did not actually
1060s matter because the Explorer missed the
1062s lighthouse anyways but that's just
1068s something but yeah the Explorer
1070s obviously is great basically completely
1072s reveals us
1076s opponents okay The Liberator wanted an
1078s Explorer where that's why he didn't take
1080s a workshop I
1082s guess and he finds out that there's a
1085s Central City where R is going to get but
1088s maybe um the vam SS position the
1092s defender might be able to snack that
1094s ruin over there because red is like
1099s basically guaranteed going for Red
1101s Village so that ruin probably should be
1107s his and even more Warrior
1114s okay
1116s Riders
1118s um what do you think about Riders
1121s here I I think honestly they
1126s they they are not too good but I can see
1129s that he wasn't sure about going for
1133s Archer uh for hunting for hunting
1137s archers because he does doesn't have too
1140s many resources maybe he wants to go for
1143s routs first and afterwards go for
1148s Arch yeah but with those with that many
1152s forests uh it will be hard for for
1155s another thing is he can if he if green
1159s doesn't get wer he can immediately sieg
1163s him wait can he no no no no he can't
1167s never
1167s mind yeah but I guess he could have a
1170s philosophy that but he might get a
1172s Defender Siege in
1175s future but yeah typically in catali
1179s miror matchups you don't really see a
1181s rider rush because Defenders are like a
1184s natural counter to
1187s Riders starts with
1194s Defenders okay hunting for
1197s rats and another
1203s Explorer and he gets a lighthouse which
1206s is
1208s great and he sees almost the entire map
1212s and he goes for that was fast I don't
1215s think he had to take it

1219s immediately and yeahor just doubles down
1223s and gets even more
1225s Riders oh wait why is he saving so many
1228s stars
1231s he ends turn with eight Stars
1234s here I guess he wants to get something
1239s uh before he he takes these two Villages
1242s like rose for
1244s example yeah he's going to get he's also
1247s pop C
1249s so I guess he could have made another
1251s unit with cattle well let's see what he
1254s has planned
1260s okay Reds um 14 stars for
1263s Reds and he picks up another Lighthouse
1266s of that
1268s Warrior or roads okay and two upgrades I
1273s guess he reveals the ruin as
1276s well what what I found wait I just
1279s noticed this he could have claimed the
1282s ruin in the beginning right like maybe
1285s he forgot about it
1290s oh okay I see to get thrs from there's
1294s no way you want to get trade from ruins
1296s so don't think that's a possible
1303s reason and reds picks up
1307s archery and yeah gets his first Archer
1311s wait I think there was a nice Play From
1315s The Liberator
1316s here so Red's thought he can get away
1320s with um let's go back to Red sister he
1324s thinks he can get away with stepping
1327s onto that
1330s Village but now L
1332s Liberator and places the road and Roads
1335s and that
1336s Warrior could could Reds have made an
1339s Archer okay no he was population cap
1342s that's why I guess
1351s and yeah now he's just brute forcing
1353s down a Defender with melee units like
1357s you see can you can you stop and go back
1360s a
1361s little I wonder why he didn't just um
1364s was able to sieg the West City as
1369s well like using
1372s roads H by killing this Warrior and
1375s bouncing the rer into the city yeah but
1379s looks like a missed opportunity right
1380s there where city was completely open and
1383s the ride from the capital two roads one
1386s here one here yeah you're in I don't
1390s think Reds could un
1392s Siege
1398s yeah yeah I missed the opportunity for
1401s the Liberator here and like he easily
1404s could have afforded it as well right he
1406s has 11 Stars left like this Defender
1409s kill right there is like it shows why it
1412s hurts so much to go Riders against
1418s katali so in hindsight you you think it
1421s was a good idea actually to go Riders
1423s instead of archers for Liberator um not
1427s necessarily but um like he obviously had
1432s a significantly better position to start
1435s with because he was able to afford so
1437s many level fre upgr great just with
1442s organization he also said that early
1445s explorer that met red so he had an
1447s economy lead for like quite a long time
1450s so I don't think that rder roads
1453s necessarily put him into a better
1455s position than Riders would and than
1458s archers would
1462s have and yeah like now right here he
1466s obviously missed that opportunity to go
1468s for the sieg
1470s but like in that case rder roads would
1473s have definitely paid off he steal a city
1475s like that but obviously didn't end up
1478s happening
1502s yes so Reds um let R the turn
1506s again so Reds um gets some additional
1511s City upgrades here like additional four
1514s stars per turn just for leveling up that
1516s City in the South which cost him like
1519s five stars I believe
1521s mhm yeah but he wasn't able to deny that
1524s City in the
1526s East and L Li notices that he somehow
1531s has to prevent Rats from sieging that
1534s city with a Defender so he moves like a
1536s bunch of riders in
1541s range now Reds just sieges with a
1544s warrior and he gets forestry and chops a
1548s bunch of
1552s forests who that's a lot of
1556s chopping but Giant his capital and
1560s that's where Riders really struggled
1562s because against against shines Riders
1565s are
1566s horrible now the Liberator somehow has
1569s to kill that Defender to be able to kill
1572s the warrior because Defender was
1575s creating zone of
1578s control uh I wonder can you go back to
1582s the
1583s previous to um
1591s I wonder shouldn't he have moved the
1594s defender to the forest in this
1600s city and Northwest instead of
1604s North you mean that you should have gone
1607s Northwest instead of
1609s North
1611s yeah H does that even change anything
1614s though I'm I'm not sure that's why I'm
1617s asking
1619s defend is creating zone of control there
1621s anyways and because there's a
1624s mountain yeah I I mean the defense bonus
1628s If he if he would have enough uh damage
1631s to to
1633s Kill ah you're thinking about the
1635s defense bonus
1641s yeah I guess that's a valid reason to
1645s move there
1646s yeah what did l used to kill
1655s it right there Warrior and HP
1659s rer yeah I don't think that combo would
1662s have killed if rats moved onto the
1664s forest I guess technically Reds could
1667s have just could he have rolled around it
1669s no right one he
1673s couldn't yeah it's still
1677s long yeah I think that was a mistake
1681s that made The Siege not
1688s hold I mean I could check the
1691s calculation result really
1693s quickly and how much damage
1697s deal so we know it for sure mhm yeah
1700s let's do it Fly calculate right so a
1705s rider a 2 Hp Rider and a
1709s Warrior could only bring down an 11 HP
1714s defense booster Defender to 1 HP so yeah
1717s so he wouldn't he wouldn't un them yeah
1721s good
1734s catch okay Road Connections to level up
1738s his capital I
1739s believe oh yeah but what really bothers
1742s me here is why why is he not taking ruin
1744s in the north I guess he doesn't notice
1747s it but that's yeah maybe maybe he
1750s forgot that's the you know time pressure
1753s and uh what what size is this map yeah
1757s 196 so not that big yeah not that big
1763s yeah and now he gets
1765s population maybe he waited you know then
1768s maybe he you know he would have gotten
1770s fishing and he sensed it and then yeah
1773s next thing was was the population
1775s veteran for red and star ruin and now he
1778s gets to diplomacy and
1781s cloaks well his every city is pretty
1785s well upgraded so yeah and like the
1789s libert just B A grow that City in the
1791s front so that will be a great Target
1794s yeah juicy Target
1803s yeah cloaks are situational but once you
1806s you know uh get a like a cloak chain
1810s then it's really hard to defend against
1812s them right uh even yeah Wonder would
1815s Liberator be able to kill that
1822s cloak I guess here it's not possible
1825s because like cloaks on the food
1828s I think it should be fairly obvious that
1832s the
1834s cl I guess it could also be north of
1836s that City but I think he could like uh
1841s kill the kill the warrior F then use
1845s Rider to attack the the defender bounce
1849s off to
1850s that yeah and then bring the
1855s closest you're right
1858s uh I think he could reveal it but I'm
1860s not sure if he could kill it no he could
1862s kill it with a swordsman afterwards ah
1864s yeah with a swordsman yeah there is a
1865s swordsman yes right you're you're
1867s absolutely right so pretty risky cloak
1870s placement by Reds
1872s there yeah but it's paid off
1878s so yeah even now even now he could just
1882s kill
1886s it well but not now he wouldn't be able
1889s to kill it oh wait isn't isn't it on the
1895s route um a right the ryer would be in
1898s range to move north of the cloak
1903s yeah yes so usually I say it's like
1906s terrible idea to go for a
1908s giant um against cloaks but since the
1911s city was level four already mhm yeah
1915s like this way he at least chops a bunch
1917s of for to prevent all the daggers to get
1920s defense
1927s bonus because like one giant basically
1930s can just kill the additional dagger that
1932s spawns and reds picks up climbing for
1935s the defense
1939s bonus if you didn't know yet um daggers
1943s prioritize tiles with defense bonus mhm
1947s so it's mountains and
1959s forests okay so this is now a little bit
1962s crazy now we have a level six I mean
1966s honestly like who else would you use
1970s it I think that's actually the only city
1974s which it makes sense to get yeah because
1977s this is like giant
1981s wall well he can just get clo in
1986s East maybe would be able to push with it
1990s because R has his Giants in the
1993s vest maybe I guess he just prioritize
1997s defense now the West City here anyways
2010s and yeah this turn once again like let's
2013s take a look at what the Liberator has
2015s here like I'm pretty sure he could reach
2020s could he reach the capital of um Reds if
2024s he moves Riders correct yeah but it
2028s would require to think a little how to
2032s exactly do it maybe he was low on
2036s time I guess we don't know that
2039s mhm yeah absolutely he could absolutely
2042s do it if he like uses his Giants to kill
2046s like those daggers that are in the
2049s v and then uses the Riders to clean up
2052s the daggers he might even be able to get
2055s there mhm yeah
2064s absolutely because like getting Chain
2066s cloaked by
2069s uh on such a high level City obviously
2072s is always brutal especially when you
2074s don't have units that are good at
2075s killing
2078s daggers and now he sees that dagger down
2082s now now he knows that there's cloak down
2084s there again as
2092s well damn so many Siege yeah
2101s nicely making use of the fact that um
2103s hitting a city with a
2104s cloak
2106s um how many stars does does he get from
2110s cloak
2111s attack um I think it's six stars
2116s mhm yeah so he he he get he gets those
2119s cloaks almost for free
2122s yeah yeah and he spawns five units every
2125s time and he also denies his opponent six
2128s STS
2131s yeah yeah lot of rers just to
2134s retaliation he this
2139s Forest okay and he manages to get
2142s the city he also get sieged over here
2145s because he left that City open
2150s m so at this point it just seems like
2153s he's falling
2154s apart wait what did rats do right there
2158s that must have been a misclick
2161s no
2163s yeah
2173s yeah okay so he manages to sorry the
2177s Liberator he manages to un Siege in the
2180s East and he sieges with a giant okay
2183s there's a knight I see a
2185s knight he also Rees for
2189s City
2191s mhm let's see if rats is going to chop

2197s forest oh
2199s that's that's
2201s risky oh he even moves the cloak next to
2204s the
2205s giant yeah but I mean he has he has a
2208s cloak next to miss
2212s oh oh wait let's take a look could could
2216s he reach it could he reach

2223s two he would have to kill that AR over
2226s there somehow mhm yeah I mean he could
2229s have chained those all those so two of
2231s those archers and then two cloaks so he
2233s would have Reach the the
2235s capital yeah but if he if he use the
2239s Knight on these archers he has no unit
2241s to use to kill the oh I yeah he has no
2246s unit to kill the
2249s cloak in the capital unless he somehow
2252s revealed that that yeah he would have to
2255s reveal that
2256s Glo I I don't think you could expect
2260s that to happen especially because like
2264s um if the Liberator used the Knight to
2268s kill that first Archer M he would see an
2271s eye on both his giant and his KN he's
2275s naturally going to expect the cloak to
2276s be in between the Giant in the night
2279s okay but what would actually be the case
2281s is that where is one cloak on the other
2284s side of the Giant and one of the other
2287s side of the Knight so yeah there's like
2290s no way to pull that off
2299s really okay so yeah misses the cloak
2302s here so that's pretty bad for him
2306s yeah and Red's just hitting everything
2310s with
2317s cloaks and another
2321s city and he got his own
2325s Knight oh yeah they're in the in the
2329s South yeah mhm so yeah this point it's
2332s like looking vers and verse for the
2334s Liberator so it's five Against One two
2338s three four five six he's getting he's
2341s getting a nice night chain but yeah
2343s that's quite
2345s huge I don't know if it's
2347s enough I mean he CL cleaned up a
2355s lot yeah but like even though he killed
2358s so many things his army is still
2361s worse and now he get
2366s himself oh yeah that that's the final
2368s blow I
2373s think yeah he's left with five
2376s units six with the giant yeah so
2382s it's and yeah that's the
2385s game yeah it was exciting I I I liked it
2389s it's like a lot of back and
2391s forth so I guess in the in the beginning
2394s The Archers won but um the Riders
2397s weren't that
2398s uh you know better of a choice
2401s right there was some value in in
2404s them yeah he got
2406s some I'm still not sure if it was the
2410s correct choice but he he he got more
2413s value than I would
2415s expect
2417s mhm yeah and there was you know like
2420s taking CDs and then taking them back so
2423s like yeah I I think it it was a good
2426s game yeah
2428s conat yeah mhm I think the breaking
2431s point was that um The Liberator just
2434s didn't use the opportunities he had with
2436s riders
2440s mhm just bounc into the Open City for
2445s example like he's going for rder roads
2447s which is like a strategy that is more
2450s front loaded here

2453s mhm because he doesn't really have a
2456s good answer to like all the units
2458s threats building up like all those
2462s Defenders so he has to kind of find
2464s these early advantages but City snip the
2466s East was nice
2469s but you probably also have to get like
2471s that second City snip there like if you
2474s get that City
2476s snip the game would have probably had a
2478s different ending
2480s mhm and then there obviously were like
2483s all those opportunities where he missed
2485s to kill the cloaks
2491s um yeah I think right here for
2495s example it was possible to kill a cloak
2499s yeah
2506s um yeah especially because it was I
2509s think it was to be expected that he's
2512s going to cloak this city and what won't
2515s go for the East ones
2520s yeah R's like always some kind of mind
2522s game involved like maybe red picks up
2525s climbing to have moved his cloak onto a
2530s mountain yeah I was thinking about that
2533s as
2538s well but Reds took Rus didn't get
2541s punished and yeah then just won the game
2543s with cloes
2554s yeah I think that sums up this game
2556s quite
2569s well okay so let's let's jump into the
2573s next game on the list
2580s okay what do we have as next
2589s one so who's playing here let's start
2593s with
2597s that okay so for the next
2602s game um we got a quali mirror match up
2606s on legs
2610s and the players playing will be Wu and
2614s green M
2616s and um pmcu in
2623s red and yeah have the map sles here
2627s so so there will be some some water
2630s action right yeah there there are going
2632s to be some legs probably also some naval
2636s combat
2637s on legs are like a lot of different
2639s strategies for crali going water is
2643s better vent for many other tribes
2645s because they have Defenders already mhm

7080s seven bombers set up there like no way

7484s forced to go for a giant defense in the

7487s mhm because like defending cloaks in
7490s front City often is almost impossible
7493s especially when you don't have control
7494s over the land mhm and then like as you
