I really want to be able to choose a map but it feels like developers has no plan for it. If they do have plans for it in that case when and if they don’t have plans for it then why?

Ok I understand. But considering seeds are In the game and every map has a seed, why is there no option to select a certain seed?
The official answer, at this time, is that we consider "exploration" to be a core skill of Polytopia, and don't want people memorizing a particular map layout.
Also, there's also the fact that different combos of tribes means a different map layout, since tribe balance affects the terrain generation.
