I tried playing some multiplayer games, and there's just one thing I hate: it takes so long.

I know it is what it is, and I know Midjiwan and the Polytopia community want it to stay that way. And that's okay.

But that won't stop me from making some imaginations on how to make Polytopia gameplay much quicker.

The answer? Make Polytopia a real-time strategy game.

Here's how it would work:

  1. Everyone still starts with 5 stars, but instead of getting stars every turn, you get stars every 10 seconds.
  2. All units, after making their move (movement + attack), can only make another move after 10 seconds, making them vulnerable to other attacks. The counter-attack you get from attacking enemy units will still happen, and won't count as a move on the enemy's side. (A freeze by a Polaris unit lasts 10 seconds, after which you can move the unit that got frozen.)
  3. When you land on ruins, villages, or enemy cities, you need to wait 10 seconds before you can press the "Capture" or "Examine" button. If your unit dies or disbands before the 10 seconds is up, you can't do the capturing/examining.

I would like to hear your thoughts on this.

Stay safe and have a nice day!

Yeah. I guess this game ain't too good for me.

It doesn't mean I don't enjoy the game, though. I do like the game. It's just that, much of the time in multiplayer, turns take too long.

Then don't play Multiplayer?
