3s we're going to show you an epic brawl
6s between two top tier Kali players we'll
9s see some cloak action the devastating
12s power of Archer lines Giants being
14s melted and some nice night chains to
17s round out the game let's get to it I'm
21s Chris but I'm not casting this
24s alone hey all I am uh rnie so the game
30s we all we will be seeing is from the
32s katali polium tournament from last
35s September the pums are the official
38s polyopia competition that runs an entire
41s month with several weekly tournaments
44s where you even have the chance of
46s winning actual cash
48s prizes wait cash prizes but what if I'm
52s not good at the game oh don't worry
55s about that everyone can join regardless
58s of how good you are it is a great way
60s way to play the game with other people
62s to have fun and also to just get better
65s in general and who knows maybe you might
68s actually win the championships one day
71s so this game that we're looking at who
73s do we have well this is a game between
77s two top tier players we have
81s Voris who's in the
84s Northeast he is ranked seventh on
87s Challenger mode and is house leader for
90s r
90s on poly Champions and we have Sunny
94s flower in the southwest who's ranked
97s fifth on Challenger mode so this is a
100s top tier game let's take a look at the
103s game then we can see here boat players
107s starting out with some nice resources of
109s course they are Gali so they will
112s definitely have some good
114s resources but if you look at the map in
116s general we can actually see that the
119s villages are really really really well
121s distributed if you look at the top right
124s here you can see that Force has access
127s to about seven
129s Villages but here in the
132s southwest the same is also true for
136s sunny what else do we see on this map
138s grais well all of the villages have
142s pretty nice resources however notice the
147s ruin distribution Sunny has most of the
150s the ruins on his side of the map with
153s Force having maybe access to one or two
158s and this will definitely impact the game
160s later on all right so then let us turn
164s on the fog and let's see what happens in
167s the first few

173s turns so we see both players starting
175s out exploring the map nothing special
178s here they're fighing villages they're
180s claiming them left right center and here
184s on turn three we see Force go getting
187s his first capture he goes straight for
189s organization and what does he do with
192s it well he grabs
195s himself a workshop right here in the
200s front all
205s right honey responds in much the same
208s way getting a work shop in his capital
212s and potentially setting up for an
218s Explorer vorce then gets an Explorer in
221s his third
223s city which
225s explores oh it almost went the right way
228s but it goes right into the corner but he
230s does get this nice
232s Lighthouse so now that we have a bit
235s more Vision let's turn off the shared
237s fog so that we actually see what players
240s are
242s seeing all right
244s so Force has had his first explorer how
248s does Sunny respond well Sunny also goes
250s from an Explorer a really really risky
252s Explorer if you look at it here right
255s because this Explorer could just as well
257s go all the way in the back towards the
261s lighthouse but what happens look at this
265s beauty it reveals several Villages it
268s reveals forces capital and all of forsa
271s cities so this was really an amazing
275s explorer that shows him so much of the
278s map and so much of what will be going
282s on
285s absolutely and play proceeds from here
287s with both players getting their upgrades
291s growing their economy and picking up the
294s villages that they can see
300s some more workshops to get the economy
303s going and we are spreading out oh we see
307s here that is sunny going for the first
310s ruin of the game in the top left
314s corner what else what else uh see Force
317s oh force is going for another Village
320s and whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa Force goes
324s straight for diplomacy in this game so
329s what does that mean well he definitely
330s knows where Sunny's capital is now but I
334s don't know Chris I think he might be
336s planning some sneaky
339s backstabbing yes indeed getting cloaks
343s early trying to land those daggers and
347s perhaps getting some Vision he's lacking
350s vision of his opponent right now so he
352s would definitely like to be able to send
354s in some cloaks to get that valuable
357s Vision while also starting some riots
362s and of course he continues capturing
365s Villages and in general boosting his
369s economy nice veteran swordsman for sunny
373s here it's going to be quite close to
376s vorse and allow him to try to
380s contest the top side of the map a little
384s bit that does definitely look scary I
387s would not want to be faced with that one
391s we getse bit more coming here but again
395s we can already see here that well Sunny
398s still has all this Vision Sunny knows
400s exactly what's going on on forces end he
402s knows how force is positioning he knows
406s how force is building up his economy so
408s in that regard information in this game
411s can really be
413s key and vorce is lacking that key
416s information stepping his Warrior onto
419s this beautiful five fruit Village in the
422s South not knowing that Sunny can take
425s him off of it and secure it one turn
428s earlier with his
431s Warriors which of course is exactly what
434s sun will
437s do and sunny seeing that VOR has a cloak
442s decides to go for a cheap and effective
445s counter archery so Force seeing that
449s sunny has archery how does he see it
451s well if you look at this Defender here
453s in the middle it has a defense bonus
457s that's can only mean one thing Sunny has
459s just bought archery and might be making
461s some archers and so Force makes the
464s decision here that well he doesn't want
466s to send his cloak towards the
469s archers instead he moves it away from
472s where the action is using it to explore
475s a little
477s bit of course this does also mean that
480s we will not see any quick infiltrations
482s happening uh
491s soon see a bit more economy being built
494s up oh and the first action this veteran
497s swordsman really um proving it worth
502s together with the archer in killing the
504s defender and
505s even revealing oh let's go back a little
509s bit for that one but the swordsman even
511s reveals the ruin that we thought would
514s actually go to force because it was so
515s much closer to his to hisin but now with
518s a veteran swordsman over there who knows
522s and sunny gets a fantastic Explorer here
526s recognizing that it will only go towards
528s the east which is the closest fog
531s tiles and it
533s reveals pretty much all of the rest of
536s vor's cities that he's going to get in
538s the east as well as getting in the
541s lighthouse oh and what do we have here
544s so Force also decides to go for archery
547s um why do you think he went for archery
549s here
551s Chris well although riding and roads are
554s normally a great counter two archers
557s Force wants to get them himself because
560s he knows he's going to have to kill lots
561s of Defenders which are high
563s health and he wants to give his daggers
566s defense bonuses from archery in addition
570s archers are a cheap and effective unit
572s for dealing with things like that pesky
574s veteran swordsman that's on his
577s borders exactly because without archers
580s I don't see him taking that one down all
582s that easily we also see that here in the
585s South Force decides not to use his cloak
589s in the attack instead the cloak goes all
592s the way to the back where it can use its
594s ability Scout which reveals a lot of
596s tiles so this cloak has transformed from
599s an offensive tool into now a really
602s great Village finder furthermore by
605s moving all the way here he removes all
608s the in the back line and why does
610s it matter well that means that this
612s Explorer will be able to be shaped in
615s such a way that it goes straight towards
618s Sunny's uh cities
620s sadly so close but he barely missed the
624s lighthouse that one will would probably
626s have stun

633s first star ruin of the game for sunny
637s and he uses the veteran swordsman to
640s secure another ruin in the north the
643s star ruin allows him to get climbing
646s which allows him to continue attacking
649s Voris and try to contest the ruin in the
652s east as well while also growing his
656s economy and training lots of units
660s exactly I mean up until now force was
663s ahead in economy but with this turn
665s Sunny really really caught up so yeah
669s what's Force going to do about
671s this he does use his cloak very well to
674s find to both go for the village and to
677s find the lighthouse in the east by the
680s way keep in mind Sunny has no idea where
683s this cloak is right now Sunny will
685s probably be sweating um buckets because
689s who knows this cloak might arrive at the
691s cities at any
694s time we see some more then gets a nice
698s wall in the South City to protect it
701s because it's a little bit isolated right
704s now oh does right because without a wall
708s it's so far away from the other cities
709s that is probably difficult to defend
711s that City that's a really good move
716s actually we see Sun getting um another
720s star ruin in the north here so yeah he
722s will now really be able to build up um
726s his economy with that how is he going to
729s do
732s that see some more units moving some
734s more oh he goes for
737s theu well he uses the star ruin to get
740s forestry which otherwise would have been
742s a very expensive
744s technology and allows him to upgrade
746s most of his cities he then chops a lots
748s of forests to train even more
752s units that does look like an incredibly
754s threatening threatening line of archers
756s right
758s there oh
759s yeah and at this point the players
762s really start to build up their Archer
764s lines it's almost like two forces
767s staring each other down with neither
769s Force really wanting to advance too far
772s or else they'll get mowed down by the
774s other line
781s we see Force here also in the back keeps
783s building on up more and more
786s archers but actually this one is quite
789s interesting because here in the back we
791s see Force just captured the city um with
794s this cloak now doing that actually
796s reveals the cloak so right now Sunny who
800s has vision of the of this Village knows
802s exactly where Force's cloak is he now
805s knows
806s exactly well how long it will take
808s before that cloak can actually reach his
810s cities and how long he has before he can
812s be attacked by
815s daggers really nice population ruin for
818s sunny here getting him much closer to
821s his first
823s Giant and allowing him to set up for a
825s second giant with the
828s Monument getting lots of nice little
830s kills here and pushing forward Landing a
833s nice Defender siege for the first Siege
835s of the game
840s see another oh another ruin here uh for
844s sunny and he starts really building up
847s his economy we will definitely see
850s Giants next
854s turn of course the was not going to last
857s with so many archers around so four
860s scores ahead and kill some of them oh oh
862s did you see that all the way in the top
865s here we have the second cloak this game
868s so now forces two different cloaks
871s slowly moving
873s closer to Sunny
881s cities so just more and more archery
884s attacks and yes we get our first giant
891s Bush yes excellent play by Sunny using
895s the giant push to get the warrior closer
897s to the city so that he can Siege
899s this allows him to get a beautiful
901s double Siege against force and while
903s neither Siege will hold it denies Force
905s plenty of stars and puts him on the back
907s foot he then uses the Gate of power
910s which he got this turn by getting plenty
912s of kills to get a second Giant in his
917s Capital really nice play by
921s Sunny so yeah how will for how will
923s force deal with this of course he has
926s enough archers he can get them down but
929s we will need to make sure that he
931s actually starts um going back on the
933s offensive a bit because at the moment
936s Sunny keeps harassing him and I mean
940s it's never nice right to have so many um
942s units attacking your
943s cities but we see the Glo
947s advancing and then Force uses his own
950s gate of power that he got this turn to
952s get his first giant of the
955s game yeah so Sunny got a far fing ruin
960s here in the South let's take a quick
962s look at the map um I
964s see two Farms only one of which is
967s actually in a city so not the best de to
971s get but still he can um start building
975s this city I
978s guess more importantly Sunny gets riding
981s this turn and riding is going to allow
984s him to try to get roads and really put
987s even more pressure on Voris
990s he goes for a Siege and doesn't quite
992s have enough in the East but he's still
994s advancing and applying lots of pressure
997s he then uses his monument and that farm
1000s to set up for another
1002s giant Sunny has to defend against these
1005s cloaks that are coming in and so he goes
1008s for roads using this really smart Rider
1011s bounce to reveal one of the cloaks and
1014s kill it this slows down vor's attack
1017s just a little bit
1021s we also see that Sunny now knows where
1024s both of the enemy cloaks are because
1026s these two Warriors have a small little
1028s eye icon and these four units also have
1031s an eye icon so even though Sunny cannot
1034s detect the cloes right now he knows
1036s where they are and he also knows where
1039s they are going to
1045s attack all right Force get climbing um
1049s of course climbing really good one for
1052s making sure your daggers can spawn on
1054s the right positions and force well he's
1057s going on the attack he has now pushed
1059s back hard enough um with his archers so
1061s that his cloaks are in position to be
1063s able to strike deep into Sunny's lines
1067s he's attacking two cities next to to
1070s each other and creating this really
1072s quite threatening Force right in the
1074s middle of Sunny's
1077s Army sadly though
1080s his third cloak got found so he will not
1082s be able to set up another cloak Siege
1085s cloak attack next
1092s turn and of course for uh Sunny is not
1096s the only one who is faced with a large
1098s amount of enemy archers and doesn't know
1101s how to deal with them Force also has
1104s trouble with that so force is now going
1105s to get himself a few Riders as well just
1108s to take down all of those
1110s archers
1112s exactly Sunny has to deal with this
1115s massive cloak attack but fortunately he
1117s has archers who don't take too much
1120s retaliation damage and his Giants can
1122s clean up some of the daggers The Archers
1124s couldn't get
1125s to however there's still a lot of
1128s daggers and he's not able to kill all of
1131s them this turn so vce's attack is still
1134s continuing to run
1140s too bad for vce though he doesn't have
1142s any more cloaks in the front line so he
1144s can't keep up the same level of attack
1147s using his
1148s G so instead he keeps putting on
1151s pressure using his archers using his new
1154s Riders um moving forward a bit and just
1156s in general being very annoying with the
1158s closeing the backline because they are
1160s still doing a lot of damage they are
1161s still really
1163s disturbing um whatever backline Sunny
1167s has built up and yeah we we see here
1169s Force he wants to get a pressure back he
1172s wants to get more cloaks to the front to
1175s really keep sunny on the back
1179s foot but Sunny is going to be able to
1182s respond to this and uses his new Riders
1188s and his multitude of archers to clean up
1191s the last of the
1192s daggers as well as some convenient Road
1195s Connections to begin to pump out a few
1198s more Giants
1199s Sunny now has four giants compared to
1202s vor's
1205s one that is a really big difference in
1208s Giants so I guess Force's short offense
1212s will already come to an end by the time
1214s these Juggernaut hit the front line I
1217s mean how is he going to stop
1219s that well he's going to need some more
1221s Giants of his own that's for
1224s sure all right more Giants of his own of
1227s course how else to counter Giants right
1229s but where will he get those
1230s giants because right now if we look at
1233s his side of the field I don't see any
1236s Giants that he can pump out straight
1238s away without going for some more
1240s things well he's going to need to save
1242s up some stars and fortunately his cloaks
1244s are going to help him get a few more
1246s stars from his
1248s opponent all right because the cloak
1250s steal the stars from the enemy the
1253s attack they do indeed here's a nice
1256s veteran Siege from Sunny using that
1259s veteran Rider to place a really
1261s threatening Siege on one of V's backline
1264s cities that's a lot of
1267s pressure speaking about pressure have
1270s you seen the Giant and Defender here on
1271s the other city as well I mean how is
1274s force going to deal with
1278s that he moving around these archers and
1283s just starts shooting things oh oh we see
1285s some more attack actually by vce so he's
1288s still using those
1289s to try to disrupt Sunny's backline to
1291s try to win back some of the
1294s momentum yeah that's an excellent cloak
1296s it gives him lots more stars to work
1298s with this
1300s turn
1301s and wannie how is he going to protect
1304s his Central
1305s City well actually I really like this
1308s one um so right now he's making a giant
1311s in his Central City now you might wonder
1313s why is he not waiting with a giant why
1315s doesn't he wait until the enemy giant
1317s sieges the city to J then push it off
1321s well right now there's only a single
1324s giant next to the city but if he waits a
1326s turn to make his push happen then there
1328s will be more Giants next to the city and
1331s his giant will probably get killed in
1333s her process so Force decides that even
1335s though he has a good push opportunity
1337s and might even have a Houdini
1338s opportunity here it is not worth it to
1342s keep the Giants uh in stock for that he
1344s wants a giant right now because he needs
1346s that offensive power
1355s absolutely death Sun unfaced just keeps
1358s pushing forward keeps destroying archers
1361s and keeps putting on pressure his own
1363s backline is in danger but I mean he has
1367s the units to deal with it
1368s right
1370s oh and here is a nice placement of the
1373s Grand Bazaar using that Monument to get
1377s a border growth in the East City however
1381s look at vor's side vorce has a cloak on
1384s the mountain southeast of his Archer
1388s which will immediately be able to take
1390s advantage of Sunny getting that border
1393s growth quickly CH forces few yeah right
1396s here this cloak
1397s right yes and cloaks love border growths
1403s because those daggers will spawn in the
1405s most inconvenient places for your
1407s opponent with lots of available defense
1409s bonuses so Sunny going for this border
1412s growth it's great for him but it's going
1414s to hurt that much more because of
1421s it see a few more hits few more dead
1425s daggers nothing new new
1427s here and just oh yeah why not let's make
1431s another giant because we don't have
1433s enough Giants yet on the light green
1435s sides great turn for sunny here really
1438s cementing that he's the one on offense
1441s but Voris able to land a cheeky little
1443s cloak on that border growth City and
1445s look at all those
1452s daggers I see a lot more attacks here
1455s and for is starting to actually Whittle
1457s down all the Giants near his North
1461s City exactly
1476s now Sunny moving in with three Giants on
1479s that Central City really testing vor's
1483s defenses we'll have to see if they can
1485s hold but for now it looks like Voris is
1488s still maintaining a stable line but
1490s Sun's continuing to push forward picking
1492s off those remaining daggers great play
1495s by Sunny to make sure that he Shores up
1497s his side of the map and making sure that
1499s he doesn't have any daggers in the
1501s backline but would you look at this here
1503s what happened here in the
1505s north Force saw the giant the giant was
1507s already a bit weakened and he just ASDS
1510s well let's kill it as we said in the
1513s introduction Giants are being melted by
1516s The
1519s Archers and of course and there's
1521s another massive
1523s cloak five more daggers on that City
1527s stealing even more star Force has so
1529s many stars to play with now he can
1531s really start to look at getting more
1537s Technologies of course sun is still able
1540s to clear the B but just look at how many
1542s units he needs to do this how much he is
1545s investing in actually trying to keep
1547s this city
1551s safe we see some more offenses on the
1554s North side
1555s here but in general it's just more of a
1559s same Sunny decides oh B no he's stilled
1563s but oh would you look at this sunny has
1567s recognized that all those archers are
1570s still a problem for him even with his
1571s Riders so he got himself free
1575s spirits that can only mean one thing
1577s right he's going for
1580s nights
1581s exactly let's see how that
1584s goes here once again a giant just
1588s getting d C by all the archers Surs po
1593s Giants and just great defending by Voris
1597s he's been defending admirably for the
1599s last few turns taking out Giants without
1601s losing any of his own just great
1605s play right because how many Giants did
1608s Sunny have again I think it was like
1611s four well it was four versus one at one
1614s point in the game and now I think for
1618s this Guild three already at this point
1621s so yeah and only lost one
1623s himself all right yeah that's indeed
1626s really really nice defensive play will
1629s he be able to keep this up though
1631s because as we saw we might be seeing kns
1635s very soon oh more Giants for
1638s Force yes working on getting a few more
1640s Giants probably next
1642s turn and there it is the first night of
1646s the game for sunny
1649s going to try to put more pressure on
1652s vores to
1655s answer and here are some nice sieges by
1659s Sunny continuing to deny vorce some
1664s stars and again probably not going to
1668s stick but Sunny knows that he just knows
1671s well this three star Defender is worth a
1673s lot less than the star income I'm
1675s denying so he just keeps it up
1679s and here in the South no in the East we
1682s actually see that Sunny is starting to
1685s find the other cloak he now knows where
1687s they are coming from how they are
1689s attacking his
1690s City and I think he will try to deal
1693s with that because he makes this entire
1695s wall and why does it matter Chris well
1698s if a cloak has no tile it can move to
1701s outside of a city then it can't
1703s infiltrate this is called blocking
1705s cloaks and sunny is demonstrating
1707s exactly how to do
1722s that vor's position still holds here as
1726s he continues to pick off units and there
1729s he lands a nice cloak getting rid of one
1731s of those blocking units so his cloak has
1733s a space to move to excellent play by VOR
1736s to open up that cloak attack
1741s and then popping another giant making
1744s sure that his opponent is not allowed to
1746s Siege one of his backline cities and
1749s then a big border growth trying to set
1751s up to get even more Giants and hopefully
1753s defend against these incoming Knights
1755s that he can
1758s see so what will the KN do how are they
1761s going to do back here we see some more
1763s clearing attackers here in the front in
1765s the back line but of course we're all
1767s watching this little
1769s what's he
1770s going where is he going to
1773s attack oh oh all the way to the other
1777s side of the map clears three units not
1780s too many but still creating a lot of
1782s open space alleviating some of the
1785s pressure was feeling on that side of the
1790s map exactly and at this point in the
1792s late game when both players are trading
1795s units like this over and over again it's
1797s not necessarily the cost of the unit
1799s that matters it's how many units it can
1801s get rid of before it
1806s dies we see the Border here here paying
1809s off with even more
1811s Giants but Sunny did build up his Knight
1815s Army now has two more Knights ready to
1818s attack going for a Siege here with a
1821s knight again keep in mind the sieg is
1824s stealing a lot of stars just by blocking
1826s the city
1828s and another Knight Siege as well with a
1830s hit on the giant just to whittle it down
1833s a little bit so even though those
1835s Knights didn't kill too many units
1837s they're still really really um annoying
1841s for vce to deal with and of course yeah
1844s they're just clearing out his Frontline
1846s units making it really hard for him to
1849s protect his squishy and valuable archers
1852s furthermore we also see that Sunny is
1854s really intensifying his offense like
1856s just look at how many units he has here
1859s on the front line meanwhile force is
1861s pushed all the way back to this line
1863s here force does have a lot of giants
1865s though right these Giants if he can get
1867s them into the action might actually
1869s really start mattering on the other hand
1872s Sunny only has this single giant left
1875s all the rest of them have been killed by
1877s forces's archers
1895s see some more
1901s UNS and here Sunny's just continue to
1903s try to break through vor's front line
1907s getting another giant kill and another
1910s big Siege and look at all these
1913s Defenders for sunny right on the front
1915s line the Knight chaining through the
1917s last vor's Defenders you can see Sunny
1920s is this Army composition front line to
1923s back line his Defenders protect his
1925s archers who can now advance and for the
1928s first time in this game Sunny's archers
1931s can start breaking through to vor's side
1932s of the
1938s map forse continuing to try to defend
1942s but Sunny keeping up this pressure
1944s that's a big giant Siege on the wall
1946s City on turn 26 versus wall City finally
1952s gives way and sunny can Siege
1954s it and now Sunny working on killing
1957s another Giant and there it is from Full
1961s HP Sunny is going to be able to kill
1964s another one of vor's Giants and really
1967s make this Siege hard to
1969s break now here in the end vorce sees the
1972s Giant on a city and knows this is going
1975s to be so difficult to deal with he is
1977s going to to go all out going to try to
1980s keep it um and look at how he's
1983s positioning his units it clearly looks
1985s like he's trying to set up what we um
1989s call a Houdini trying to make his own
1992s giant underneath Sunny's giant so that
1994s sun giant will disappear by blocking all
1997s the TOs around it it's an ambitious
2000s play but what happens
2004s wannie I'm afraid he just barely likes
2007s the units needs to pull it off um he
2011s sent all these unit forwards and then
2014s just some very minor um issues with
2018s getting his UN in the right position
2020s this Rider blocking the tiles towards
2022s this Forest so he can't actually get all
2024s the units underneath it um of course
2027s keep in mind Guys these players are
2030s really really good players but these are
2033s live games they're playing with a clock
2035s they can't just sit down and
2037s really draw out the best plan so even
2040s with all of this Force sadly barely
2044s misses his um barely misses his Houdini
2048s and doesn't actually manage to destroy
2051s the enemy Giants and I think at this
2053s point for Force decides well I'm not
2057s going to win this anymore I should have
2058s been able to kill the giant I didn't
2060s manage sadly um and he decides that he
2063s can't keep up anymore against all the
2065s knights and all the archers and
2067s Defenders
2068s that Sunny is throwing at him so Force
2072s resigns Chris what did you think of this
2074s game oh just fantastic game really
2078s really solid micro really really solid
2082s unit movement and combat and decisions
2086s from both players throughout all points
2089s in the game it was a nail-biting game
2092s and as we said from the beginning right
2094s they both had their nice setup of Seven
2097s Cities and used it to its maximum
2099s potential it was just a thrilling match
2101s to watch exactly and with so many back
2103s and forths with so many uh special units
2107s like how often do you see those big
2109s Archer Place how often do you see cloaks
2112s really going in there and taking control
2115s so in my opinion this was a really
2117s beautiful match and just with how the
2119s map was laid out in such an equal way I
2121s think this one really got to showcase
2124s the skill of the players involved here
