Hey there, thanks for the feedback!
To access the Genetics Lab, you'll need to first place a nursery in the park to "breed" animals!
Nurseries can be found in the Park Infrastructure Tab along the bottom of the in-game screen. You can select a pre-made nursery, or place one of the modules down to create your own. (To breed the biggest animals, you'll need the large nursery!)

After some feedback when we launched Early Access back in April, the devs are redesigning some of the UI so that it's more clear and easier read. We've also improved performance on low end machines and hope to continue upgrading optimization throughout Early Access.
