Yeah it's very recommendable to do that. Flashy skins will make you an easy target in every situation on every map. They are essentially pay to lose.
I almost exclusively play duos with my bud. When I knock someone, I'll usually leave them up as bait. IF not to be a good sport in hopes that if me or my teammate or I get knocked, they will not flush.
If they look like this, I just flush them.
