Hi fellow pubg'ers.

Up to about two weeks ago I constantly experienced random CTDs which made the game unplayable. I'd tried just about all recommended troubleshooting tips apart from a full reinstall of my PC, but nothing seemed to work. In a post from about 4 years ago some redditor (u/poehowaslut) suggested to clear up some disk space by clearing the crashes folder under %localappdata%\TslGame\Saved. This folder contains all of your settings, logs, replays, and more. Thing is, when you uninstall PUBG to do a "clean" reinstall this folder is not removed.

So what I did was to rename the entire Saved folder (in case I needed to roll back) to get a clean start. I did not reinstall my game at this point, just renamed the folder. All of the subfolders are rebuilt when you start the game again. You will have to restore your settings of course, but compared to an unplayable game this was for me a no-brainer. After this I have experienced no more CTDs.

If you cannot find the %localappdata%\TslGame\Saved folder you may have to show hidden files. %localappdata% resolves into C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local on any normal Windows installation.

I cannot promise that this will help for every case, but if it helps a few it'll be worth it.

PS: It may be worth to spend some time to document your settings up front to make the restoration process easier.

tl;dr: Rename the %localappdata%\TslGame\Saved folder in case erronous settings is the cause of your crash issues.

Hey OP, thanks for sharing what helped your issue. Corrupted game / OS files are often the culprit of crashing issues. Files can go corrupt due to a faulty update install, driver updates can carry a corrupted file, there are many ways to cause issues like these unfortunately. Downloading fresh files / replacing or repairing windows files usually helps resolve many performance related issues in various apps.

Regarding the recent crashing issues that some players have been experiencing / reporting in the past weeks - we have been working with the dev team by providing player reports, crash reports, any info we could see being reported around the community. The dev team has not been able to find an issue on the game's end.

Looking at posts such as yours over the past few weeks we could conclude that the crashing issues are not caused by 1 and the same thing, that they are not related to certain hardware and that they are not widely spread.

We've collated all of the information that we've seen, that was shared by players, onto the page below. These troubleshooting tips have come from players who were able to resolve their crashing issue and who have shared the steps it took to do so.
