Let me start by saying I am not a pro in any way, just providing feedback / getting answers on this topic.

I’m wondering if RP should be/is considering damage dealt in a way that seems fair.

I know RP currently relies on individual placement, kills and assists. Placement and kills are easy to determine, and we’ve already discussed the shortcomings of individual placements and kills after death, so let’s not go there again.

But I’ve turned my attention to assists and damage, I’m not 100% clear on what constitutes and assist. From devs comments on reddit/ twitter/discord I know the following.

“Finish someone an enemy knocked” = kill “Finish someone your team knocked” = assist

“Deal X damage Y seconds before someone dies” = assist. (The devs have kept X and Y undisclosed afaik).

Question on the last one though, do assists include x damage, y seconds before someone dies to an enemy team?

Or only when I do x damage y seconds before my teammate kills them?

Finally, is x and y a matter of dozens and close to a minute or is it more of a lot of points in a few seconds before death?

I’ve had so many games where I’ve dealt a ton of damage and didn’t get kills, and I’m unsure if my assists got me the RP I feel was fair.

In 30 ranked games I had 48 kills and 31 assists, let’s call it 79 RP events.

But I had 9,519 damage, or “enough for 95 RP events”

I’m not saying I should get rewarded for 91 RP events in total, but when you are getting an average k/d that’s half of your average damage dealt per death (1.92kd in 30 games and 380.76 damaged per death, or “enough for 3.8 RP events), it feels like RP may be missing my “shooting skill”.

My “shooting skill” is not something earth shattering in any way, there are a LOT of higher skilled guys that get way more, so I’m not bragging here, just hoping to feel good about my RP outcomes hah, and provide some feedback/engage in the discussion with the PUBG devs for it.

One way I tried answering this question to myself:

Kda = 3.28 (kills + assists)/deaths (3.28 RP events) Damage per death = 380.76 (3.81 RP events worth) So thats not that far off and maybe it is fair?

It’s irked me a couple of times playing with random squad mates, where we place well, but I get 1 or two kills and enough damage for 2,3 or sometimes 5 more, while at least two of my teammates only shot 100 damage or less in total.

What do you guys think? Devs any thoughts on this?

Edit: looking at my Pubglookup I realized why I was feeling like this, my last two matches were with complete randoms and the outcomes were kind of wild:

Last game: Chicken dinner, good random team, 1 kill, 2 assists 538dmg

Felt like my damage was good, not sure it was reflected on RP
