I, personally, believe they’re very strong, but they’re exactly where they need to be. No longer am I finding pellet RNG costing me gunfights, and the shotguns feel like they have actual RANGE on them. I don’t think they’ve ever been in a more balanced state. My current build of choice is M16 or SKS with a Pump Action, which I believe is the current top shotgun.

I believe Pump is the best, followed by the O/U shotgun, DBS is actually not great (for reasons I’ll get into in a second) and the S12 is still one of the worst guns in the game beyond initial landings. Even with a compensator, the horizontal recoil is so high that the shotgun may as well NOT be semi automatic. In the time it takes me to shoot, line up another shot, and shoot again, I could have had as many as THREE shots from the pump action out.

I’m finding myself at a loss as to which shotgun attachment is better. I love the new spread with the Duckbill (which basically guarantees you’ll land all pellets at up to 8 meters or so) or the Choke, which makes your pellet spread smaller over all. Maybe Duckbill for people who ADS and Choke for people who like mobility? I’m at a loss. Has anyone else been testing this? I’ve used a shotgun almost every game since the update and I’ve almost never been disappointed.

EDIT: Forgot to mention the Sawed-Off: it feels like the shots are VERY consistent, but it’s not the handcannon the primary shotguns offer- once again, it feels like it’s balanced flawlessly.

EDIT EDIT: Forgot to talk about DBS. It’s okay, but it has issues with accuracy since it can’t equip any mods. It used to feel more accurate than other shotguns but now it feels much less accurate.
