I shall elaborate further:

I am a heavy Insider user for Windows. I tend to install Beta and even Dev builds of Windows 11 to get a head start and use the new features Microsoft plans to drop for 22H2 and 23H2 builds of Windows 11 (like tabbed Explorer, Mica-ified taskmgr, AMD preview GPU drivers for WDDM 3.1, etc.).

However, I have noticed that PUBG outright refuses to run on Windows versions that aren't the release builds of 11. I have observed its behavior in taskmgr. All it does after running it through Steam is start TslGame.exe, then after a few seconds the executable self-terminates. Happens on both Windows 11 22H2 Beta and Windows 11 23H2 Dev builds - I have to restore my PC back to release build for the game to run again.

Anyone know why? Could it be BattlEye? It's boggling my mind - all other games, even those that run on EasyAntiCheat runs fine under these preview builds of Windows, but PUBG refuses to.

Hey!

This isn't an issue with PUBG, but with Windows 11 Insider Build.

The current dev build has issues with anti-cheats. Specifically EasyAntiCheat, but can have an affect on others.

This is a known issue in the patch notes for the dev builds recently and PUBG is one of the affected games.

I'd imagine this will be fixed by Microsoft later down the line. This is not the first time a dev insider build has had issues with anti-cheats, either :)

Always read the patch notes before updating! Anything can break very quickly in dev builds! I'm on a few builds back due to this same issue myself :)

Build 25140.1000 is the last version that works with certain anti-cheats right now. This is the build I'm on.

Any future build after this will cause problems :(
