How To Lunar New Year With The PURRBG Cats

The adorable feline stars of our upcoming webcomic PURRBG Cats have decided to help us explain what Lunar New Year is all about since we’re celebrating with all our players this year with a global event. The Gregorian calendar dictates we celebrate the new year on January 1st with a late night party fest soaked in alcohol, good times, lots of hangovers. However, if you follow the Lunar Calendar, the new Year falls on February 12th this year and is celebrated a little differently.

Lunar New Year puts an emphasis on connecting with family and clearing out the old to make way for the new however fireworks and a good amount of drinking are also involved. Lunar New Year is often referred to as Chinese New Year, but is actually celebrated across many different countries and cultures in Asia. Families come together often with impressive homemade, traditional meals that will put everyone in blissful food comas.

You will also see a lot of bright red envelopes being given as gifts. The bright red is considered a lucky color and is most often filled with money representing good wishes for the new year. 

Another common tradition is to update your wardrobe and if you participate in our Lunar New Year event you can update your PUBG wardrobe with some finely crafted garb.

How to Participate

Supported Platforms: PC(Steam)/Console(Xbox, PlayStation, Stadia)

  • Visit the Lunar New Year’s Promotion Website by selecting the link from the lobby
• Option Two (Console or PC)
  • Visit the Lunar New Year’s Promotion Website
  • Login and link your Global Account to earn rewards
• When you visit the event website for the first time, you can participate in the event by clicking “Agree” on the pop-up window.
• Points will be accumulated and rewards will be compensated automatically when you complete missions.
• You can check the status of point accumulation, item acquisition, etc. on the website.
• Rewards can be found in the Customization menu.
• Points earned through the 2021 Lunar New Year Event can only be used for specified event items and cannot be exchanged for G-Coin or other items.
• You can only receive items according to the accumulated points during the event period.
