I just finished it an wow did it actually affect me a lot.

The voice acting is genuinely disturbing with the performances the VA's gave, and the 911 calls are really hard to listen to as well. Being able to hear the students when the shooter entered their room was shocking.

I was tying up civilians as usual until I made a round to the main hallway and I spot one of the shooters just straight up executing the civilian I had detained before I could shoot him, and it made me seriously realize how badly I had f*cked up, as he couldn't run or do anything because of what I did

I immediately ran to pull the other civvies out, but spotted two more bodies that I had previously detained, now dead on the floor.

This with the fact that there is no music, just an ominous ambience throughout the whole mission is actually disturbing.

Seriously made me realize that this sh*t happens in real life all the time in America, and with even larger numbers than in the game. It actually pisses me off that this sh*t happens IRL

A small note on the music - initially there was some ideation to have some “music” stems peppered throughout the level as actual environmental sounds, but honestly for a level like this, the realization of less is more became apparent.
