[2022] Supporter edition owners, is non-lethal viable again?

Like the title says, with the new A.I reworks and such is non-lethal back to being a good strategy? Ever since the update back in June it always felt like I could use gas grenades and pepperball guns all i want but suspects would never surrender or anything. At most they would walk away coughing then instantly dome me after 10 seconds. Beanbag shotgun would also hardly work and the only time it was effective was shooting suspects in the mouth but that would lose points. I really liked to play non-lethal before the last update and hope it works much better with this new one.
