TL;DR: Takes too long to maintain a tree and the dryads are not worth it

To maintain a tree to 100%, it takes a minimum of 4.5 hours at max plants skill and up to 8.2 hours with 0 plants skill (number taken from wiki), that is a lot of time that can be used to do other things. Maybe it's not a big problem for big colonies, but for small colonies, having just an extra colonist means that a lot more work can be done. And the benefits of the dryads aren't that great:

Carrier: quite useful, probably the only one that's worth it imo

Clawer: it dies really easily and would probably die before it can even get close to ranged enemies

Barkskin: with the existence of killboxes, sandbags and turrets to protect you, why would you need an animal to soak up bullets?

Woodmaker: it can be useful if you are living in ice sheet/sea ice or using tree connection but not really useful other than that

Medicinemaker: you can plant herbal medicine yourself and get way more than relying on dryad to produce for you

Berrymaker: same as above

Gaumaker: i already have problem with gauranlen trees to begin with, so i just don't like a dryad that makes more of them

A universal problem for all dryads: they take 8 days to spawn one dryad, which is too long, that is 32 days for each tree to spawn 4 dryads.

What do you think?

Yes, these are getting buffed in the next patch.

I've been collecting more balance feedback and will be dialing in various things over time. (It's better not to rush these things, I've found.)

Any plans to give actual value to the seeds themselves? As someone who is playing tribal tunnelers with human primacy, it'd be nice to be able to sell off the 7 seeds I've gained from sprout events happening on my map, even if it's just a small amount per seed. Their value right now is literally $0, which seems weird for something that must realistically be so wondrous in-world.

You're right. I'll add some value to make sense a bit, but these aren't meant to be super valuable trade items (they appear for free after all).
