Somewhat paradoxically, my favourite change in 1.5 is one I hope I never have to use, but I feel it's impact consistently throughout my playthrough; it's the knowledge that if I mess up stupendously but want to carry on my colony, I can.

Knowing that I can get a new cohort of colonists if I mess up a run has meant that as a relative noob (~250 hours) I can crank up the difficulty, safe in the knowledge that I can still progress through the game despite the innevitable chaos; it's allowed me to welcome in all the 'FUN!'

Now there's a good chance that if my colony gets a fitting end, I'll opt not to use the feature and begin anew anyway, but I feel so much safer now in taking risks and welcoming in the chaotic stories that Rimworld is all about; I feel able to commit in a way I never have.

All in all, I couldn't be happier with 1.5 and Anomaly and wanted to share the love - it may not've been the direction I would've chosen (I'm in the "desperately wants the world map to feel more alive" camp), but Tynan and co. have smashed it out the park once again, and shown beautifully why I'll continue to have faith in their choices, whatever path they choose to take the game :)

Awesome!

Any way we can encourage players to play forward through drama and challenge and loss is good (because it's hard to generate good stories where nothing ever goes wrong). So I'm very glad this feature is having that effect. Perfect.
