As title says, my entire colony got wiped out because of accepting a quest to harbor a prisoner for 3 days. The only info it gave me is that there would be occasional mech cluster drops. With the 5 soldiers they gave me, I thought I could easily handle a few every now and then. Keep in mind however that I was still a rather new colony, however finally got good walls and setup going. I was a tribal start and had just barely researched electricity, not that much wealth.
What I thought would be a fair fight turned out to be a f*cking slaughter, 3 mechanoid cluster drops PER day of the 3 days I had to harbor the prisoner, with just the very first one having 2 centipedes, 2 megaturrets and two scyther builders, plus a toxic spewer. I barely managed to take that down and then immediately after another drops down with just as many if not more. This lead to me losing at least a few colonists/ soldiers to each cluster, to the point where I barely had any left and they just keep coming. I can't even leave my walls to complete the quest by delivering the prisoner, and am constantly getting mortared when I'm 5+ technologies away from even getting close to unlocking mortars. I'm okay with losing but this sh*t just doesn't even feel fair. I feel like without high tech weapons and defenses you're just f*cked regardless of any prior raids difficulty. Just doesn't seem to be intended with such a massive difficulty spike.
I understand that mechs are meant to be hard but this really just seems like too much, and that has been relatively consistent in terms of feeling like any time I get hit with clusters they are a massive step up in anything I've faced yet to the point of feeling unwinnable, especially early game.
