So far it seems like the bans have been pretty spot on without giving out unnecessary bans.

I’m dying with laughter seeing all these players admit they are using language that warrants a ban but think it’s not fair.

As a grown adult I feel this will push the community in a more positive mature direction.

Heck this could even slightly hurt the player base since negative players might decide to leave altogether but overall is the right decision from Psyonix.

Once again TY.

Thanks for the post and kind words!

I mentioned this on the sub yesterday, but want to clarify a few things here related to yesterday's bans.

  1. The bans yesterday did not display the words the player used that led to their ban. That is a bug that should be fixed as of today.
  2. As evidenced by the bans issued yesterday, some racial slurs, sexual slurs, and language of similar weight are going to net you a game ban, bypassing chat bans altogether.

Devin, how far retro-active were the bans?

How do you ban someone for doing something that wasn’t bannable at the time of doing it.

I get the this isn’t the same but if you passed a law in the U.S. for instance you couldn’t apply that law to a previous offense.

Bans issued on Monday were for offenses within the previous seven days.
