So a while ago, Rocket Science released a YouTube video explaining the Unreal Engine physics in Rocket League. I thought it was odd that reaching supersonic isn’t actually the fastest the vehicle can go, and that you still can boost to get there (Max car speed is 2300 unreal units per second, supersonic is reached at 2185 I think..)

The difference is small, and boost management is vital, but at the higher levels every unreal unit counts. (Lol)

So Psyonix.... why?!

If supersonic and max speed were the same value, it would be very difficult to maintain supersonic. The car would constantly be fluctuating in and out of supersonic if it did anything besides driving in an uninterrupted straight line. The lower supersonic speed is to give some wiggle room to maintain supersonic.
