So Psyonix just did the first? (im not too sure tbh) official tournaments and I sgined up to play with a friend. The experience was amazing too, and I'm so excited to play more tournaments in the future.

First off, we signed up soon after the tournament sign ups open, and within in 10 minutes we were in our first game. We were put with a random teammate since there were only two of us for a 3s tournament, but as we were entered into the champion tournament they were roughly the same rank as us so that all worked fine.

The first round, we had a really intense game with own goals, good goals, and more. It went to overtime and I managed to score the winning goal. It felt so much more rewarding than just winning a ranked match. We felt like the win truly mattered, it wasn't just giving us a small amount of mmr but a sense of pride.

Also, we had a nice chat with our teammate, because since you play more than one match together u can actually talk to each other.

The second round, we got smashed, which was quite unfortunate but we certainly deserved to lose. However, we then got our rewards which included 14,600 tournament credits. From this, I got an exotic special edition painted wheel for my 12,000 crate. I know I was very lucky, but I managed to get a very good item from two matches, and those two matches were very enjoyable as we felt like we were actually playing for something.

Therefore, I'm very much looking forward to playing more tournaments, and I would recommend anyone else to do so too, even if you apply by yourself - it's so much fun. Well done to psyonix :)

It's not a bucket you get dropped into that has hard edges.

We generate 32 team brackets with the closest skill ranges we can. If you're D3/C1, we try to put you with people of similar skill. It doesn't matter what the label (Diamond, Champion) is.
