[2022] Forced to use Epic name in game instead of Steam?

Hey, everyone. Just wanted to check in to see if anyone else has had this issue.

I have had the same Steam name since I created my account and loved using it in game. I had some really fun conversations with people who understand the reference.

Now, it seems that the in-game name has defaulted to my Epic account name, which is more of a throwaway than not. Is anyone else experiencing this issue, or see this as an issue? Is there a way to change the default name used? Any answers help.
