Let's try and imagine the future of Rocket League. I suggest you follow the format below if you like. I will start:

2021

Not many changes except for big visual update along with the release on next gen consoles. Few new modes (volleyball etc), cars and items. Rocket League Mobile is also released and it's not actually bad.

The pro scene is taking of, leagues are multi-tiered and with many teams.

Kaydop has won 3 more world titles, this time with TSM. Ganer has made a new record of 48 consecutive flip resets.

2026

After signs of decline, Rocket League 2 is released. It includes stunning photo-realistic graphics with VR support for full immersion. Game engine is improved but the core is kept the same. New modes like "RPG Mechanic", "Rocket Battle" and "Rocket Formula" draw more and more casual players and the player base explodes. Rocket League 2 is received as masterpiece by critics and is the first video game to be regarded as a real sport. Along with the game, Psyonix releases the "Rocket Controller", a hybrid joystickpad designed especially for rocket-powered-flying-ballchasing-cars.

Each country has it's own RLCS division and teams are qualified to the finals in a Champions League fashion.

The first Rocket League Academy is opened in the USA by Kronovi himself. Kaydop on the other hand, has now won every single RLCS with 14 different teams. Grand Champion has become the second highest rank, with the highest being called Kaydop. 4852 MMR is needed to reach it. Ganer has broken another record, this time with 48 HOURS of consecutive flip resets without the ball dropping. Despite the protest of his fans, he has announced that he will not be joining the competitive scene, but will focus solely on free-styling and futuristic RL mechanics.

Meanwhile, sunless has created the "RocketTube". A video and streaming platform dedicated to Rocket League. Of course it is a massive success and becomes the 38th most visited website in the world in 8 months of existence.

2038

E-sports have surpassed the revenue of traditional sports, and Rocket League is regarded as the new Football (soccer). Students are earning scholarships to study at RL Universities across the globe. First attempts at real life rocket league matches are made using drones and people start to dream of matches with flying cars driven by real humans.

Kaydop, now at 40, has just retired after winning the RLCS while playing 1v3 in all matches, using only one hand. A 200m statue of him is made in his hometown in France.

"Why you suck at Rocket League - The movie" has been released by RocketTube productions, directed by sunless. It becomes the 2nd highest grossing film of all time, just after "Grand Kaydop".
