Hey Reddit, it's been awhile since we've done one of these! It's been incredible watching this subreddit (and community) grow over the past few months and we're appreciative of everyone's continued support and feedback on Rogue Company.

Today we'd like to take some time to try and answer questions you may have around game mechanics, content and more so feel free to drop them in and answers should start rolling shortly after 1 PM ET (17:00 UTC).

Please limit yourself to one question to ensure we can get to everyone and please be specific/detailed so we can answer in kind! We'll do our best to hit everything we can but bear in mind we won't be able to go really deep into future content (i.e. When are you releasing Ranked?).

Externally available game data APIs are something we offer for our other games and intend to for Rogue Company. Just a matter of time :)

Any Mastery Levels you earn on your Rogues will have rewards retroactively granted (such as the ones coming in the next update).

Will there be an option to exchange reputation points for Rogue bucks?

Rogue Bucks are a currency designed to be purchased with real money while Reputation is earned by playing. While you'll see options to unlock some things (like Rogues) with both, you will not be able to exchange one for another.

Are we likely to see ranked before the end of the year?

It is on our current Roadmap so you can anticipate it's release this year.

We are working on adding future mastery rewards for Rogues. In our next update we will be adding 3 new ones (for your player identity tags). Still TBD on the rest of the cosmetic lineup for Rogue Mastery though.

We also have designs being worked on for Weapon Masteries (and weapon mastery will have wraps) and also for event features we hope to roll out this year that will allow additional avenues to earn free cosmetics.

Dahlia was the last Rogue included in the Founder's Packs. Future Rogues will need to be unlocked!

Great question! The Player Identity System is visible to all players inside of the match (it displays on Downs/Eliminations/Spectating) and in your profile screen. We have additional plans to display Player Identity in the Friends List and during the Walk-in sequence.

Appreciate you bringing this up! We've seen some concerns around voice chat functionality not just on Xbox One but other platforms as well. We've addressed a few recent bugs to this system and are actively identifying/fixing others. This is a core system in our opinion and we'll continue to tackle these as we see them.

We have a ton of experience running competition for our other games. We are excited for Rogue Company and growing competition and (dare I say) esports alongside the community. For context we have operated everything from salaried Pro Leagues to online cups for our other games!

TBD! We really enjoy the idea of giving players access to more of their stats but it all comes down to prioritization. Right now the team is prioritizing Ranked, further improvements to the Rogue Mastery System, Weapon Mastery, Limited Time Modes, more Rogues, and more.

Ranked is one of our top development initiatives right now. We hope it'll be out in the next several patches (so this year), but that's always subject to change based on development.

Our initial rollout of Ranked is all about the fundamentals, a way to play competitively, climb a ladder, and see how high you can get. We'll have some rewards for it, but consider the first ranked season to be a Beta season, with us doing a lot of additional development in subsequent patches.

We'll have more information on Ranked in the coming weeks!

We will be doing a small event for Halloween this year which features a specific Limited Time Mode and an achievement that gives users a Reward for completing. In the future we will be doing more elaborate events around these holidays. :D

We were huge fans of the Roadmap and letting everyone know where the team is focused and what's coming next. We really want to continue this once this current Roadmap is complete.

Gl1tch is currently being reviewed by the Design team but with the removal of Sixth Sense from him in the next update, he'll receive Headstrong. We feel that's a big step in the right direction!

So if it's not changed, I'll be playing anyways but honestly just seems like an oversight if it were to stick around once ranked gets released. Nevertheless, I love the game and thank you for the glorious work.

There are not any plans to do so - but I think the spirit of your question is 'are we open to change'?.

The answer is yes - like in many things we take community feedback into account as we evaluate features.

We are continuing to look at refining both our competitive play, as well as looking at additional modes we can develop for more casual play. A number of mode ideas have been going through design, but we don't have anything specific to talk about at this time.

We are also creating some fun Limited-Time Modes for events this winter (smaller modes that break the mold in fun ways).

So this visual bug occurs randomly or should I say effect bug. It doesn't matter if you restart the game or pick rogue A or B. It pops up out of nowhere for the entirety of the game despite any 'tricks' that you might use. Yes, I restarted the game during a match, after a match but without any result.

These are not only my own experiences, but those of many other Switch users I've played with.

  • No smoke visuals/effects when jumping out of the plane (pic 1, no green overlay landing perimeter)
  • No gadget effects, unable to see explosions or to see C4/Landmines/Semtex ingame
  • Incendiary grenades only show a black spot on the ground(pic 2, I hear the flames burning but this is all I see)
  • Unable to see glass
  • Unable to see the green landingsite
  • Unable to see range indicators, only a little black circle where your gadget is going to be dropped
  • Unable to see bullets being fired
  • Unable to see the effect Actives. Dallas his outline, Scorch her fire, Vy her poison etc.
  • Unable to see smoke, because of that I can see straight through smoke, as you obviously don't see the effects. This might be the only + to this bug
  • Anvil his barricade becomes unplaceable
  • Not affected by the bug but never working as intend are the spray paints, which are always blurry

edit this significantly destroys our gaming experience from start to finish

Hey there! Thank you so much for highlighting these! We have seen reports of performance issues from some Switch players and I know at least 2 of these are being reviewed as bugs just off the top of my head (I'm sure these others might be there as well).

I'm going to take this list and run it against our bugs to ensure we have all of these listed. We want the Switch experience to be solid as we think Rogue Company is one of the best MP experiences you can have on that platform.

We'll get these resolved as soon as we can!

The Ranked system is a fairly complex endeavor involving a lot of programming, UI, and copious amounts of testing. The team made a conscious decision to initially move this feature from Phase 2 to Phase 3 in order to ensure we brought a more complete and polished experience.

Map rotation is something our development team is treating very seriously. We're actively investigating methods to improve the map rotation experience in Rogue Company. First and foremost, we will continue to add more maps to our game which will reduce the probability of players getting the same map back-to-back.

Next it's imperative that our existing maps are meeting players expectations. We will continue to make improvements and iterate on our existing maps to improve the experience for you all.

We balance the game around competitive play (of which Demo is our primarily comp game mode). For insight on how we will approach this, it is similar to Conquest v Arena in SMITE.

I’ve been playing with only people on the east coast on NA East servers with crossplay off and have been experiencing delayed hitmarkers and downs. Others in my RoCo group have experienced the same.

We've been upgrading our infrastructure for Open Beta and made a number of changes to improve latency. Initially we had quite a few folks playing on NA East who probably would have benefited from a better region. We initiated a force reset and allowed everyone to re-select which seems to have relieved a lot of the issue.

Are you still experiencing it?

Our first version of Ranked is largely considered a "BETA" version. During the BETA version we will handle matchmaking similar to how we do now.

The removal of this feature was really two fold, the primary reason was it didn't work the way we'd like it to. It would present a number of bugs, and sometimes lag making it less than useful. We also took a look at our data and even during optimum performance times very few folks actually used it.

Based on this, while it's something we aren't closed off to reimplementing it entirely, there are a large number of features we feel are of higher priority to the community.

Great question! Krett from our Design team and currently doing our narrative work had the following to say:

"We have a lot of lore that is established but even more stuff we're still working through so keep your eyes peeled. Though I can say that Talon is not a full member of Rogue Company, like the other characters are. He instead has a long term contract. "
