With many of you jumping in to Rogue Company for the first time, we've seen a lot of feedback around the Strikeout game mode which has respawn. Some folks have raised concerns around situations where your team can get pinned in and "spawn camped."

While the team is currently assessing all this feedback, Lead Designer Gandhi wanted to provide you with a little more information about how it works.

How Spawns Work

When it comes to Spawns in Strikeout, there are multiple elements that influence where a player will spawn. This includes Enemy Proximity, Friendly proximity, distance from the objective, if a teammate recently died in that area, and a lot more. Points are assigned based on this to avaialble spawn locations on the map.

When a player is about to respawn, the game evaluates the point totals for every spawn location using the above parameters and the highest point total wins.

Players are also given 5 seconds of damage immunity upon respawning. Damage immunity is immediately removed if the player fires their weapon. We are however considering tweaking this logic in the future to help further reduce pain points with respawn.

Why Don’t Spawns Flip Sides?

Rogues are currently designed from the ground up to fit into one of six roles: Duelists, Breachers, Defenders, Support, Snipers, and Intel. In order for Defenders, intel and Breachers to truly maintain their gameplay identity in Strikeout, we needed each team to have a designated side of the map. This design decision allows Defenders to setup more strategically while simultaneously maintaining the importance of Breachers/Intel Rogues.

We are of course very open to your feedback on this mode! If you have concerns, ideas, or questions please let us know because the teams goal is to make Strikeout a challenging but exciting experience.
