Playing Strikeout, up 2-0, in round 3 my game crashes. I try to rejoin, it crashes again. By now, the game has ended, I get no Rep, XP or Mastery. I queue into another game, the other team surrenders after 1 round because it started as a 2v4, and then I'm given a deserter penalty. Is this because I couldn't rejoin the other match so it thought I left? Or is the game just really handing out deserter penalties for no reason? It's frustrating because I never leave games on my own or try to end them early. Really want this to stop being a thing until the game is more stable and they figure out what they want to do about surrendering. If you leave games constantly, I get why this is in place, but punishing people because of bugs in the matchmaking isn't what I had in mind.

Thanks for sharing your experience on this. If you do not successfully rejoin your game, you will be given a Deserter penalty although it should be a fairly short one unless you do it often. It sounds like the penalty was not awarded before you tried to queue for another game however, which is not how the system was intended.

This is an important topic for the team right now and we are having some regular conversations around how to improve the overall experience. Hopefully we'll have more to share in the near future but there are some changes we'd like to make.
