Not sure if I'm late to the party but under the Gameplay tab in settings, there's an Auto Pickup option for gadgets and melees. You simply run over a gadget or melee and it adds it to your loadout if you have free spots. This is great and really helps save time when you're trying to grab C4 or a katana from a pile of guns.
