0s It's time to sharpen your axes and don your best flannel.
4s We're adding a new string to your bow with the 110 Woodcutting
7s and Fletching update. I'm Mod Stu.
10s I'm Mod Mickey, and I'm Mod Breezy.
13s And today, we're talking about our latest 110 update
16s with Woodcutting and Fletching.
21s Some time ago,
22s An Illujankan traveler brought precious seeds from Iaia's big trees
26s to Gielinor. She was able to hybridize them with Gielinor's fabled
30s Magic trees to create Eternal Magic trees.
33s These trees are so powerful that they magically change
35s the landscape, encouraging everything to grow alongside them.
38s This mystical clearing is where you'll train Woodcutting to 110,
43s so you'll have plenty of time to soak in the magic.
47s Woodcutting and Fletching are natural companion skills.
49s You chop the logs, then fletch them into useful tools and powerful weapons.
53s Similar to other 110
55s skills, this update brings a new resource to use in your adventures.
58s If you watched the Mining and Smithing Dev Diary, you'll remember that
61s our goal over the next few years is to bump up more skills to level 110.
66s These updates let us introduce fresh and exciting ways
69s to use your skills beyond level 99.
73s Woodcutting and Fletching are no different,
75s and you can expect 11 levels of new stuff to do. At level
79s 100 Woodcutting, you'll be able to chop Eternal Magic trees,
82s and from level 100 Fletching, you'll be able to start
85s whittling these logs into powerful new shortbows and crossbows.
88s You'll also be able to use
89s these Eternal Magic logs for new Tier 100 Primal Bows and arrows.
93s And of course, chopping Eternal Magic trees will give you loads
97s more experience to help you on your way to 110.
101s But that's not all,
101s of course. This update also brings a fresh approach
105s to training Woodcutting and Fletching from 100 to 110,
109s as well as new rewards for you to unlock, craft and use.
113s Eternal Magic trees and weaponry
115s come with a few changes and additions to improve and spice up the skilling flow.
119s While cutting Eternal Magic trees,
121s you'll find that you no longer have a random chance to fell the tree.
124s Instead, each tree has a timer until it's cut down,
127s giving you a more consistent Woodcutting experience.
130s Alongside the timer,
131s you'll spot a new call to action mechanic like time sprites and rockertunities.
135s Every so often while chopping,
137s you'll see a flurry of leaves appear on another side of the tree.
141s Move over to the side of the tree and start chopping again,
144s and you'll find yourself under the effects of a new buff,
146s giving you a variety of bonuses, including more XP
149s and an increased chance to find bird's nests.
151s That's not all for Woodcutting, however.
153s Eternal Magic trees also come with a new critical strike mechanic.
157s New tradable consumables,
159s and a new enchanted bird's nest filled with juicy rewards.
163s On the Fletching side of things, we wanted to stray away from making you fletch
166s countless weapons over and over again.
169s This time round, the armies of Gielinor have enlisted your help
172s in supplying them with war-ready weaponry.
174s Using new Fletching workbenches found around the game world,
178s you'll create your base weapons and then refine them into
181s more powerful variants in a similar fashion to Smithing.
184s From here,
185s you have the option to use the weapon for yourself or prepare it
188s for military use, sacrificing it for a huge chunk of experience.
192s this process results in a smoother experience to gain Fletching XP
196s without needing to constantly worry about bow strings and crossbow limbs.
199s That's not all. We've also made some quality of life
202s improvements to creating primal ammunition.
204s Instead of making 50 primal bolt tips from a primal bar,
207s you'll make 75 matching arrowhead quantities.
211s As well as this: primal arrows and bolts will be made in the exact same way.
217s Once you have your headless Eternal Magic shafts, simply choose
220s whether it's arrowheads or more tips that you want to attach to them.
223s And finally, we've also made consistent the number of actions
226s and quantity of primal arrows and bolts you make per action,
230s rather than 15 and 10, respectively.
233s First of all, once you reach level 100 Fletching,
235s you'll be able to create the new Eternal Magic Shortbow.
238s Then from level 103, you'll be able to fetch the new Primal Crossbow
242s using your hard-earned Eternal Magic Logs.
244s All of these new weapons will of course, require level 99 Ranged to wield.
248s You'll also use Primal metal from the 110 Mining and Smithing
251s update to craft crossbow limbs, arrowheads, and bolt tips,
255s including a level 100 Primal Hatchet ideal
258s for chopping away at the Eternal Magic Tree. At Fletching 110,
262s you'll also be able to create the new Tier 100 Masterwork Bow.
265s Like the Pickax of Earth and Song, you'll also be able to combine the level
270s 70 Crystal Hatchet and level 80 Imcando Hatchet into a level 90 Augmentable
275s Hatchet - the Hatchet of Earth and Song! So, they don't actually like that name.
281s Oh! No problem, we can change it.
282s This requires While Guthix Sleeps, Birthright of the Dwarves, and Plague's End.
288s With the help of your old friend Ramarno in Camdozaal,
291s you'll also be able to upgrade the Hatchet of Earth and Song into a new level 100
295s Hatchet of Life and Death,
296s in a complicated process similar to the Pickaxe of Life and Death.
300s Yeah, so they don't like that name either...
302s Okay. We'll change that one as well.
303s That's not all, though. As highly requested by the community,
306s We've also filled the gaps in smithable hatchets.
309s You'll be able to smith level 60 Orichalcum to level 90 Elder Rune Hatchets
313s and withdraw them from your Toolbelt in a similar fashion to pickaxes.
316s There are other uses for Eternal Magic logs too.
318s For example,
319s you'll be able to burn them to train your Firemaking skill,
322s or build a handy Wood Box to store all your logs.
325s While bringing Woodcutting and Fletching up to level 110,
329s We've applied plenty of learnings from the Mining
331s and Smithing 110 update earlier this year.
334s We'd like to thank
335s everyone who let us know what they did - and didn't - like about this update.
340s Your feedback has helped Woodcutting and Fletching 110 grow into the update
344s we think you'll really enjoy.
345s And don't forget,
346s the best place to tell us your thoughts is the official RuneScape discord.
350s There are loads of discussions going on about Woodcutting, Fletching,
353s and all our other skill updates. So go on, check it out!
356s We can't wait to hear what you think of this new skilling update, and we look
361s forward to seeing you exploring the forests of Gielinor once more.
365s Go on now. Chop chop!
