I DM Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition games based in the RS universe, and I love the way that RuneScape elements can be incorporated into DnD. Over the past week or so I've been working on some homebrew content in the form of playable races based on a couple of races in RuneScape. If you are into DnD or are just curious, please have a look and let me know what you think! Here's what I've come up with:
-
The Ilujanka Race. Better known as the dragon riders, this is the reptilian race featured in One of a Kind and is Vindicta's race. They make for excellent mounted combatants, particularly paladins, and have a strong emphasis on interaction with animals.
-
The TzHaar Race. This race has four subraces, which are of course the TzHaar-Ket, TzHaar-Xil, TzHaar-Mej, and TzHaar-Hur. Creating this race was the biggest challenge for me as the subraces needed to be able to fulfill different roles, as the different TzHaar do in their society, while still having a cohesive central race. Depending on the subrace you choose, a TzHaar could make a good frontliner, ranged weapon user, caster, and more.
-
Variant Goblin Race: Dorgeshuun Cave Goblin. This race I made as a variant to the goblin race from Volo's Guide to Monsters. It could be useful if you want to play as a different take on the quirky and small goblin race without having to be of an evil alignment. It keeps the goblin's nimble escape feature and gains better vision and the ability to make some neat gadgets.
-
Variant Centaur Race: Ugthanatos You probably know this race by their more common name, Camel Warriors. I made this race as a variant to the centaur race from Guildmaster's Guide to Ravinica. Different ability score bonuses allow you to play as a centaur-like creature in roles not dependent on strength. It also has some cool racial spells based off the camel warriors' mirage abilities.
