BIG EDIT: This was crossposted to the RuneScape general forums and hidden in a rants forum that is not visible unless you are logged in. Jagex is hiding mtx drama.
Yes the bank update was good.
Moving on,
We as a community have asked in every imaginable way for action regarding mtx.
Jagex corporate has, systematically and repeatedly, sent community representatives with no ability to affect meaningful change to keep us complacent.
Their mentality is that there is not an issue with mtx, rather an issue with how it is presented to the community. We get stuck fighting with the messenger and we need to demand an interface with the people actually making these decisions.
Recently, in a comment by mod mic, it was indicated that jagex is considering repackaging gambling style mtx into direct purchase mtx. This is absolutely not a solution- the tone of the comment also indicates that the discourse at jagex is about how to rework mtx rather than what meaningful content might take its place to maintain revenue in an honest way.
Through data mining, users have shown that the runescape game files contain direct purchase xp bundles and similar bullsh*t that is ready and waiting to be flipped on. Repackaging the financial black hole that they've already created into a direct pay-to-win scheme is completely unacceptable.
We as a community must demand that jagex stop hiding behind its PR team and that someone with a legitimate hand in the decision making process answer to their actions BEFORE runefest comes and they have a chance to mitigate mtx outrage with new content releases and other distractions.
Keep your crabs out. We absolutely will not be ignored.
