Hello, were these Nihils captured previous to todays update or did you just catch them post-update?
See this patch note: "Monsters placed prior to today’s update will continue to spawn as random variants."
Hello, thanks for the quick response! I just captured a brand new soul (Shadow Nihil variant) and went to my dungeon and placed it. I placed it in an empty room with no other pre-existing monsters. It respawns as a different nihil variant each time.

Right, after looking it, it looks like the 'bug' isn't that Nihils don't spawn consistently but rather they're not included on the list of monsters to spawn like this.
I say 'bug' because it was an intentional decision but looking at it now we'll be adding Nihils in, as well as Shadow Creatures and any others that come up on our radar as asks until then. Thanks for raising this!
Shadow Creatures already do spawn specific to the ones you've captured. I've got a small room full of Blissful that are always Blissful.

If they’re not the list then they’ll still spawn randomly

Is it just my bad rng or do tormented demons now consistently spawn with melee prot pray on in psd? Captured pre-update. It used to be random prot in psd, always melee in the guthix temple.
It looks like an intentional change after todays update, as far as i can see they weren't intended to be spawned differently but should instead have spawned like they do in the Guthix temple
