Just wanna know if this is shelved or not since it's been announced to 'come soon' for over a year now, I think.

Dont bother and dont be sorry, he has already used every single excuse during the past few years. I remember after the return of the Ninja Dojo he said that they will be working on the armours from now on (previously claiming that the armours were ready and in QA), so looks like he even got rid of the responsibility of doing it himself. Lets just hope someone will fix the armours before the release of Gwd3...

Things don't work the way they used to my friend. Even then, one JMod can't just make large sweeping changes to something and push it directly to a live MMO. There are many stages of development, there are schedules, there are other priorities, there are resource management considerations. How many of those things do you think I have control of?

I've always wanted this update to come out. It hasn't been a simple job, and for the most part it has been outside of my control. To imply that I've been making excuses to avoid doing the work or to imply that I don't care is just straight up insulting.

We JMods live and breathe this game and we are always so excited to release things like this because the gratitude from the players is such a great feeling. I apologise for the length of time it has taken since the changes were first discussed, sometimes it happens that way.

Think the lessons here are:

1) Don't release something this poorly balanced in the first place.

2) When they are released, don't continue to promise a fix and say it's almost done. Tweets such as these:

I've recently been poking our item repair & degrade code. Looking at t92 power armours, making augmented/uncharged/dyed-broken/degraded items partially repairable instead of having to combine armours as a primary method of repair.

(July 2019)

Yes, they'll be significantly cheaper to use.

...The work is very nearly done...

I am making large changes to this system so that it will be cheaper and easier to repair, so I'd wait.

(July 2019)

With that last one being in direct response to someone asking if they should repair their set of T92 armour way back in July 2019. We get you don't always get scheduled to get the work you want, but don't complain when players try to hold you accountable to the numerous, numerous times you've promised it's right around the corner and never delivered. Regardless, whilst you not getting the time allocated to work on this post-release is presumably not your responsibility, the fact that it was released in such a state presumably was something that was under your control.

One of the unfortunate downsides of having an open channel of communication about my work and then having my entire work schedule rearranged several times. TAPP has been abolished, and some semblance of a replacement is in the works, but it isn't currently in place.

In hindsight, I'd have preferred that I didn't talk about any of it.

Any chance you could talk to someone higher up, show them these posts, explain why you yourself think it should happen, and ask for time to work on it?

Part of me thinks you’ve already done that, but I might as well ask anyway.

Your intuition is correct and they did listen, I agreed not to reveal the date. Apologies for my silence regarding anything useful on the matter, and thank you for your patience.
