28s | kind of match the story that's going |
30s | there the entire art team has this drive |
32s | to constantly push ourselves to keep |
34s | releasing things that look better and |
35s | better that we can be proud of |
36s | unfortunately there are quite a few |
37s | older areas of the game that don't |
39s | reflect the way we want it to look or |
41s | show the game at its |

52s | best one of the main benefits that we |
55s | get from these graphical updates is just |
57s | consistency imagine if you're a new |
58s | player jumping in or even an existing |
60s | player and then you walk from one modern |
62s | area into this existing members area and |
65s | it just suddenly looks very outdated or |
68s | you'll walk in and the sun shifts 90° in |
71s | the sky and suddenly you're in graphics |
73s | from 2000 the standout feature for me |
76s | from this project has to be the |
77s | improvements to the mountain range |
79s | before these really had no business even |
80s | being called mountains they were so |
82s | unimpressive whereas now they're tall |
84s | they're imposing they've got a great |
86s | silhouette that just runs along that |
88s | entire edge of the continent and are |
89s | always visible one of my other favorite |
91s | areas of this update is ardoin and |
93s | specifically the market area in Ardo |
95s | before it it kind of looked a bit like a |
97s | Fark King lot it was very Square so I |
99s | went in and tried to add a lot more |
100s | color and life and Market stalls and |
102s | make it look like an actual nice |
104s | medieval Marketplace this graphical |
106s | refresh is part of a much larger project |
108s | we don't intend to stop doing releases |
111s | like this until the entire surface world |
113s | has had the same treatment obviously |
114s | this is a very big task to undertake and |
117s | it won't be a quick thing to happen but |
119s | we will be including ining the players |
121s | wherever we can so expect to see regular |
123s | work in progress screenshots from the |
124s | team of what we're working on and |
126s | there'll be plenty of polls going live |
128s | so that you can help shape the direction |
129s | this takes and which areas we tackle |
131s | next I'm really excited for players to |
133s | get their hands on kandin and I'm really |
135s | excited to see all of the screenshots |
