We're consistently monitoring XP earn rates across the Skill to ensure all methods are within reasonable expectations for progression.

It was valid, you absolutely didn't break any rules or doing anything untoward. We addressed the rate because it was as outside of intended experience rates based on our designs - partly due to it being an outdated method.

Anything you earned is legitimate, even if we needed to address the XP rate, so you've still got the gains from the method even if it's not viable anymore.

I thought using an unintended method was considered bug abusing?

It's not unintended method, it's unintended design balancing.

There's always a risk when working with 22 years of content relevant to a new Skill that we can miss older content methods that are outside our intentions for the XP balance of the skill. There was nothing wrong being done by doing this.

Essentially it was a nice find, but something we wanted to close off for balance reasons rather than being a bug that was abused.
