Hey Mod Osborne,
Thanks for all the hard work you guys putting into the game, Runescape is really starting to enter a new era of better content, quality and communication. But sometimes i just feel a little 'meeeh'. I understand not everything will satisfy every player, but i think feedback is important.
Seeing this message from you and how the pet differentiates in-game really disappointed me as a player. It seems that in your intern conversations you guys lost why this pet was so awesome. With the different kind of rune trimmed armor sets. You guys are thinking about gods, while I for example am thinking about how cool rune Armor sets were back in the day and I'm getting a pet to show off that coolness. mithril, adamantite or normal rune just isn't that cool and I'm not going to get 20k points just for a rune pet. As other people have mentioned you guys could have fixed this problem same as with Felix skins. If you guys intern really found this a problem. That way you could have fixed this 'force a god faction on the player problem'.
It sometimes seems that what intern is thought about, isn't whats going on outside.
Pets were in announced end 2019 and its 2021 now. My question is have you guys ever thought about asking what players what they thought about this 'fundamental' change of this pet? I understand that polls like osrs aren't a good idea, but with these small design changes it might be a good idea to just ask what the players are thinking and especially with these 'player' designed pets.
I'm saying all of this because I sometimes get the feeling that you guys "struggle" with issues that are not issues for a lot of players. + this involving people would create a feeling of connection and involvement and might lead to a great solution and save a lot of time / meetings. But i think it's really important to understand what your costumer wants. But if you understand that and created a expectation you have to deliver on that. or poll what they think about certain changes. Of course a customer doesn't always knows best and that's why its so important to communicate with them.
for example : " Our original plan was to have more metal tiers, but that didn’t work out "
why didn't it work? Help us understand your decision making here. Make us feel more involved!
Thanks for reading this, if you got so far! keep up the great work! I'm already hyped for the new questline and gw3!
